Jiggernaut was something I held off buying for a long time. I looked at it many times and always thought it looked "gimmicky" and didn't get around to buying it. I am not too proud to say I was wrong! In fact, 2 days after buying it, I bought one for a friend, I like it that much...
For those of you who like to work light and perhaps do a lot of close up / strolling / table hopping, this is (in my opinion at least) the perfect solution as it weighs next to nothing but allows you to do a full cups and balls / chop cup type routine which instantly resets. One of my favourite chop cups in the world is the RNT2 Heavy Copper Strolling Chop Cup. However, as much as I adore this cup, I couldn't imagine having it in my jacket pocket all night without a truss. By the way, I use my RNT2 a lot, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It's just a little heavy for strolling in my opinion. Of course, there is always the aluminium version, folks. Jiggernaut has solved the weight problem for me nicely, and it uses natural objects everyone is more than familiar with. There's a couple of photos and some more info here: http://www.cupsandballsmagic.com/Jiggernaut.html Bri |

A fine routine. Nice close-up, intimate, C&B's. It plays a little small in my opinion, though...

Oh, I agree. That's where it's at, up close and intimate, bar work, strolling, etc.

Or minced lamb... Hmm, maybe the reset would be trickier...

BTW, if you have Jiggernaut, see if you can find Randi Rains' DVD on the subject of the Jigger as chop cup. She was not familiar with Jiggernaut. Interestingly, Ren Clark was doing something like this during the 1970's. Neither Randi nor Mark Jenest had ever seen Ren do the routine, though.

I recently got Jiggernaut, thanks Bri, and I like it a great deal.
It surprised me though, I always thought it was c*****d.

Bill, I saw the Randi Rain routine, though I can't get the necessary to fit, though I don't find the necessary necessary, if you know what I mean (though that's not necessary!). I'd like to get the skinny on Ren's work too, though.
Tom, you're welcome. Bri |

The weight was one thing I always liked about Jiggernaut, that and the fact that it fit in one pocket and reset as you put it away.
Best Jiggernaut moment, I just lift the jigger to reveal the first cork, and the spectator immediately grabs the cork. He's very astounded and he says, "Wow, I bet you can't do that again!" I bring my arms up and kinda rub my chin, lean in to him and go, "Alright, only this once, just for you..." Snap!

That's one of the best reasons for a second load in a one cup routine. It's a great moment.

Hey my friends,
Here is a link to my version That's Nuts! Jiggernaut was cool, but not suitable for family audiences... Although it's not on my web site, I sell That's Nuts! ... comes with jigger, cherries and instructional DVD... PM or email me if interested... |

Thanks for posting That's Nuts, Gino. I think it's a much more family appropriate routine than Jiggernaut. Although I do love the Jiggernaut routine, That's Nuts may be my new favorite. Great job!

I've always been a little underwhelmed with the "theater" of the Jiggernaut routine. But I may have to change my mind now - nice routine, Gino M. (Ha! I forgot you went by that alias.) Also, nice pacing.

And, you gotta love how the "exposure" sequence doesn't expose anything. Sweet.

Gino, I'm lovin' your routine and, as Curtis said, gotta love how the exposure sequence doesn't expose anything. (I got worried for a split second when I saw that sequence, but then had a big smile when I saw / heard the punchline.)
