Cameron, I just wanted to expand on what I hurriedly said to you at Blackpool while you were demonstrating new material at your stand:

I'm two years into my magic obsession and my very first magic purchase was the Rehab DVD. "Wow" I thought "These magic DVDs are great; entertaining, funny, clearly-explained, and full of just-as-impressive bonus material". And then I bought some stuff by other magicians...

What I'm trying to say is that I was spoilt by seeing you first. You set the standard for me which is sadly sometimes lacking elsewhere either in content, entertainment or explanation. As such I now have Killer Gaft, Killer Close-up and have just ordered Omega Mutation as well as a few downloads.

I love the way you are constantly looking at new ways of exploring effects usually with the minimum of gaffs, or none at all, whilst nearly always striving to make the trick tell some kind of meaningful story.

So I'm basically just here to say keep up the good work and thanks for providing me with so many effects that have had fantastic reactions over the last two years.

I suppose if I had one question it would be "Are you addicted to the Elmsley Count?" ;-) Just kidding!

Thanks again, Tim

Tim,

Thank you so much for your kind words! Means a lot. Glad you find the dvds entertaining!

I am addicted to the Elmsley Count! But I've sought therapy... Working through it...

I do love the Elmsley Count because it's so deceptive and yet looks so ridiculously fair. When I perform for real people, however, I do use it sparingly.

Ha! I can see you compulsively Elmsley Counting absolutely everything you come across in the real world - beer mats, crisp packets, toilet roll (?!).

It is a great move but as something of an amateur I still aspire to getting them as smooth as yours and avoiding that situation (very rare now thankfully) where the spectator says "But you only showed me three cards".

It works perfectly in an effect like "X Marks the Spot" which, even as a bonus effect, has sometimes received as positive reactions as Rehab itself for me.

Thanks, Tim!

I really like "Xs Mark The Spot" myself.

BTW, I have updated handlings of two of the bonus effects on Rehab. PM me your email and I'll email you the PDF. Same goes for anyone else who owns Rehab.

Did you have any mentor?
Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.

Not in the strictest sense of the word. In fact, when I first started creating magic, I didn't know any other magicians! Just learned from books and videos.

But I now have some wonderful, very accomplished friends in magic whom I consult with on a regular basis. They have helped me out quite a bit.

I notice that "X Marks the Spot" as it says on the DVD has become "Xs Mark the Spot". A subtle distinction but makes more sense.

I would love some updates. I've learnt so much more over the last 2 years that I've let some of those earlier effects fall by the wayside a bit. I haven't even done Rehab or Xs for a while so it would be great to revisit some of that stuff again.

Will PM my email. Thanks loads.
