I too have received the Flash Pot. As always, looks great. I have not had a chance to test it yet, but I assume it will be awesome.

With mine, I press the button, and light gives a flash. If I hold the button, the light pulses. What more do you want?

I remember Roth mentioning that he raised it to 150 units. I could be wrong.

I'm sure this is one of the most stupid questions one could possible ask, but...Can someone send me a pm or email with instructions on how to load the batteries? :'-(
My SM came without instructions, so that's why I ask :-$ Thanks in advance Roel Stephen Edward Beckers Silverpolis.entertainment@gmail.com |

You really should ask Roth to send you a pdf with those. It is not intuitive or super easy to load the batteries, and you do have to take some caution to do so to avoid damaging the SM.

I recently bought the SM second hand (I'm now the proud owner of unit #53).
I'd like to share a hilarious story about my first test run. My wife was very displeased when the large box arrived at our door. She watched me carefully tear open the packaging and extract a peculiar smelling wooden box that looked like it had been through hell. She was disappointed that I had purchased, what she believed to be, an occult antique. I wanted to tell her all about it but she was just too bothered that I kept it's dark secrets to myself. I privately set it all up with the bell on the box then put it temporarily on display, atop of the dresser. At about 2 or 3 in the morning our baby woke up and my wife went into the nursery. I used this opportunity to "conjure" some entertainment for myself. I let her crawl back into bed, waited just before the wall of sleep and RANG the bell. She sat straight up, stricken with fear. I couldn't tell if she was unsure that she had heard something or if she was so scared that she was silent. I continued to pretend sleeping. I swear I could feel her heartbeat pounding through the mattress. I waited another moment and allowed her eyes to focus about the room. Suddenly, the bell RANG again (this was a case where the "second rap" was a great decision). She SCREAMED! I mean SCREAMED! It was so genuine that it frightened me! She started violently shaking my shoulders, "Jake! WAKE UP!! your f'n bell just RANG BY ITSELF!!!" I couldn't contain myself any longer. I had to tell her. After I calmed her down she said: "THAT WAS THE MOST TERRIFYING MOMENT OF MY LIFE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE FROZEN WITH FEAR." She expressed that in that one minute, every ounce of skepticism had been destroyed. She instantly believed in the supernatural. I'm a lucky man because I didn't have to sleep on the couch. By far, this is my favorite piece. Presented properly - it is POWERFUL. My one question - does this thing take batteries or something? I've just been putting various sacrificial rodents in the drawer, reading aloud the included incantations and requesting my desired effects - seems to work fine that way. Awesome. Love the pic, too. I wish I could fool my wife like that but she has long been on to the Outlaw stuff. And knows that something strange will happen anytime the return address on the box says Rick or Tim...

Those who own the flashpot box - Do you like it? I've considered buying this accessory but I'd like to hear more about it.
Also, I can't seem to find the secret compartment on my pendulum...Any ideas? |

The Flash pot is Awesome! Looks like a thin wood box with cover. Flash takes off with a magnetic ring or SM prop. Or most of the Roth/Wisseman/Feret/Outlaw Golden Gun props.

Could it be handled by a sitter/casually inspected without exposing the gimmick? I love the idea of this prop...

It can be handled by the spectator--you'll need to explain away the flash cotton and paper that's been placed inside the box. Even a very close inspection won't tip anything. Very nicely constructed and wood is slightly aged.
