I read it,but then it was written about no and I wanted to know exactly.
Sorry of too many questions, but for me spending 675$ on my hobby is a lot,so I want to know everything before I make final decision. |

In all honesty and fairness, you may be able to have the planchette move to Yes or No, but the Spiritus wasn't designed to do that. My experiments to have it do so have been inconsistent. As someone mentioned, it has a spirit bell that you can have ring on your command, which is far superior in my opinion to a planchette that is animated in the way you are hoping for. I would reconsider your desire for a planchette that slides around the board; a little animation is eerie, and a lot of animation is cheesy, like a Halloween stunt.
The Spiritus is great. I was at a psychic themed fundraiser earlier this year. In one room, people had brought antiques and objects with strange histories and properties. I brought my Spiritus (and few other things), made up a provenance, and information label. It sat on the curio table with an 'antique' spirit bell from my collection. I was in the adjacent room doing tarot readings, and periodically activated the bell/board to squeals and shrieks. I didn't use it that night for anything other than making people jump (especially when the people on the ghost tour walked into the room). |

Any unexplained movement of the planchette is sure to get a good reaction. If I were you I would just buy SM. I already have one though. If you decide to become more than a hobbyist the SM will pay for itself, very possibly in one evening. |

Thanks for the advice, again In my country (Belarus), practically nobody knows about seances, and I don't know if it will be popular, but that's not the point, I love SM but 675$ is so huge money for me..So I am dreaming of it,and maybe if the stars get in a row I will buy it,and be very very happy

Finally, after all doubts, I ordered spiritus. and yesterday I got it in my hands.
First, before placing order I start communicating with Rick, he answered all my questions, after he kept me informed about the status of order, always staying in touch. It is first time I am communicating with outlaw, and Rick personally and I have to say, outlaw service is great! Back to spiritus, yesterday I opened the package, and was truly amazed with the beauty of this prop. It looks just like it should, old, little bit damaged, simply amazing! What about the work of th spiritus, it is as great as other aspects, in several minutes after loading batteries I found spot that throws planchette in the air with flips, the moves of the planchette so cool, even knowing that moves are random (before you learn) you can believe in paranormal when it points on different letters. Oh, and the sound of the bell is so spooky and REALLY loud! That's it, thanks outlaw for great work they've done, I highly recommened everyone to deal with them and will buy more things from outlaw in future. |

Didn't have time to read through this entire thread. This is quite a jump in price from the original. I don't mean to bemoan that fact, well not too much; I'm just wondering if this is the standard for Outlaw Effect's bigger items like this. Even though I really like this piece, I would be better served waiting for another item to launch at a much discounted introductory price as this one had.

Roth priced SM a bit below what he expected it would cost so he did raise the price because he was taking a bit of a bath on it, that's why it cost so much now. most things Roth creates now are priced accordingly so the price does not fluctuate as much. The prices tend to go up based on the cost of materials and Production costs.

After making about 30 units he came back to me and said he just could not make them for the original cost he gave me and suggested I should discontinue the product. I told him that the feedback I got was that it was underpriced to begin with and asked what he wanted to continue the run. He basically doubled his price and I raised the price and absorbed some of his additional cost. It's been at that price for quite sometime now. For a 100% hand made custom piece I think it is definitely fairly priced. I also think that most of my Bizarre props are still priced below what some other creators sell in the same genre BTW the Spiritus Magnus is used in one of the most well known seances in the country. I won't disclose anymore that that. Thanks! Oh, as most long time Outlaw customers know, I'm not beyond a little haggling of prices when someone take the time to contact me directly, rather than just hitting the paypal button. I'm kind of a pushover for that stuff. |

The wires attached to the reed-switch came off (the one that turns the SM 'off'). I use it, probably, every 2 months, and the batteries are always drained. Rick, is there a schematic you can send me on how to re-attach it...or do you offer servicing?

Trust me, I am definitely a capitalist, I want you to make money on the items you sell that way you keep churning out cool stuff. I didn't mean for my post to sound in anyway as an attack. I feel a worker is worthy of his pay. Granted, on the flip side of it I also want to keep as much money in my own pocket as possible. Question: Is SM usable as a ouija board? I can't tell if the lettering is so depressed that it would cause problems with the planchette's gliding. The darkboard looks capable of this but I really like the look of SM more; it looks more authentic.

Hey Chris, I use SM as a ouija before the demonic presence shows up and messes with the planchette thingy (see video). Some have used furniture wax to help the glide out. SM is soooooooo authentic. I heard that you can get a reproduction from some guy in Cali but I have the original and it is well over one hundred years old

Just pulled the trigger on one of these bad boys! Now comes the wait. As I was placing the order with Rick we had tornados hitting the area. We pulled through fine, the damage was a mile away. My 3 month old TV didn't. It gave up the ghost. So I am hoping to contact it with my SM.
No accessories yet; but I plan on getting the pendulum, and the matches/candle set. I'd actually like to gimmick a set of bones instead of the witch's runes. I'd still like to see the performance video mentioned above, if possible.
