Pete, I wish you'd write a full length book or two. Any chance you are considering it?? I think it would be a best seller. I bet many fans here on the Café would agree with me. Seems like I remember one called "Son of Great Magic" that was goinhg to be written someday!

Haha... Tabman... "Son of Greater Magic" ??? Well, I have a lot of notes, but for now have decided to produce smaller books, like the three I just put out; Eggs, Bags & Gags, Give a Magician Enough Rope and BOWLing with the Stars.

These are easier to produce and I like covering one subject adding what I know and think about it.

The next one is going to be one I had thought about for YEARS AND YEARS... but never had a vehicle to do it. I thought of doing it for a magazine, like Genii, but never got around to it. So I have just finished it and will soon have them printed. It's a TRIBUTE TO EMILE CLIFTON.

Emile was a huge influence on my early years. He was a terrific perormer, magician and actor. He coached and directed my first major act, which won me the Grand Prix at the PCAM and First prize at an SAM National Convention.

Besides that, Emile was a true hero in WWII earning the Distinguished Flying Cross as one of the Tuskeegee Airmen. (The all-black division of the U.S. Air Force).

The book talks a little about him and features two of his greatest contributions to magic, "The Clifton Ring Trick" and "Startled" my favorite version of the MacDonald's Aces. Plus bits and ideas of his never before published.

Oh yes, Tabby, I'm still working on "The Anecdotal History of the Linking Rings."

I've got about 300 pages done, and have moved it off the back burner to the middle burner.

I just need a fire lit under me to get back on it.

You know it's funny. Here I am 76 years old and I feel more excited about this stuff than ever and it seems like I'm even more creative and inventive now than any time I can recall.

Yes, I can sense it.

The EMILE CLIFTON project sounds good. I love the WW2 generation anyway. Do you have any other writing projects on tap???

Yes, I wonder what the "Collected Writings of Pete Biro" would amount to in pages just between Genii, MAGIC!, the Café and the Genii forum??? You might surpass Stewart James but there's just no way of knowing I guess.

The only way I could write a book thicker than Stewart James would be to use thick paper and small page sizes.

Maybe true. SJ has a lot of published pages. I think its over 2500 between all the books.

I just sat down and read about one-third of "Pete's Leaflets" and there are four volumes of 12 issues (one a month) of four-pagers. I guess I could scan them and have some printed.

I don't know the appeal, though... I got a kick out of reading them as the articles reminded me of all kinds of things Ihad forgotten about.

Like Ricky Jay and Don Alan both doing my Card in Rat Trap.

There's probably a lot more PB fans out there than you know who would be interested in "Pete's Leaflets" I bet. What about an annotated "Pete's Leaflets"??

Have you had a chance to give the Pete's Leaflets book any thought yet??? I think it would make for some great reading especially if you'd annotate it to bring it up to date or is this just asking way too much since I actually know how busy you are???

Right now am writing/editing and designing the event program for the World Magic Seminar.

I will probably publish Pete's Leaflets, as I need to scan and revise the text. The disign/layout part won't take too long.

Yep, I knew you were busy but glad to hear you may move forward with the Pete's Leaflets project.
