Just recieved a mat from Pattrick last week. Very nice mat and excellent service. He kept me informed every step of the way. It reminds me of my old Gibson mat only thicker. Do they still make Gibsons??

I just received my personalized mat from Pattrick. It is so cool. It cost a little more because I got a special font done. I will post a pic of it soon.

Slyhand - you've gotta be happy with that! It's awesome!
I can't recommend Pattrick highly enough. He customised one for me to fit an old disused TV stand which I've had cut down to an appropriate performing height.
Delivered to the UK in about a week or so. Very frendly service too!
Now, I'll show you mine....

OK, recently I asked about Close Up Pads. I've been using Close Up Pads for about 30 years now and when they stopped making Apollo Pads, I bought several because they were the best pads in the world.
Not anymore. After getting several recommendations I contacted Pattrick and we exchanged emails. I ended up buying several of his pads and after having used them for a day or so, I not only endorse them, I have no hesitation in saying that they are the best in the world. They even exceed Apollo Pads.
Not only that, Pattrick allowed me to pick from new colors that he's introducing-- I selected Casino Green and Navy Blue. The Casino Green is as close to the green felt of the gaming table as you'll ever get.
If you care about your equipment, then you'll order one of these pads. Average size is only $20.00 plus shipping.
IMPORTANT: If you want one of the new colors, like Casino Green, you have to ask for it-- DO NOT order the green that's on the site-- it's a different color.

P.S. I was not compensated for this endorsement in any way. Not only that, I volunteered to do it-- they're that good.

I had Patrick make me a custom size for my Zachary (Jim Zee) stand up table. It is perfect. By the way, Patrick made the commemorative (collectable) 40th FFFF close up pad this year!

Got my Monster Mat a few days ago.
Patrick is first class all the way and kept me up to date on the process and even surprised me with an early delivery.

I used to share space with Wendel Gibson (Walter's nephew and producer of the Gibson mats). Wendel passed away over a decade ago. Before he died he sold the manufacturing rights to Hank Lee's and I believe they still produce them. Wendel sold me a box of around 100 or so of the last pads he made. I have a few left, but most have been sold or worn out...

I have two from Dean Dill, one round and one square. Love them both, high quality. His production pad is the best and can produce card, coins, and jumbo coins.

I have finally found material to use as a close up mat.
Neoprene Baltic blue from Jo ANN fabric.
$19.99 for 1 yard, that's 3 Ft by 3 Ft. With 50% off coupon $10.
Wonderful stuff.

I too highly endorse Pattrick's mats. I recently ordered a custom cut mat from him which I expect soon. He is very good in communicating iwth you and keeps you up as things progress. I'll gladly post a photo after I receive it. Pattrick's mats are easily money well spent.

Anyone have the Plush Pro Pad from Pattrick's yet? I keep looking at that but the order form is kinda weird; a little confusing. Says the Plush Pro Pad is $29 but the form says you actually get a standard mat, not plush. But if you select a Plush Color from the drop down menu the pad is $39. So the Plush Pro Pad for $29 is actually $39... I think!
Either way, I guess I would find out when my card is charged! Still, I'm hoping someone could post a comparison between the standard and Plush pads. Anyone tried both? I am curious as to which would work best with effects like the Classic Matrix, e.g., the D-S Pickup move, etc.
Thank you.

Jim, We just reworked our site and working out a few typos and such. There is a short video called what's the difference explaning the two mats. In a nutshell the plush mat is a layer of upholersty velvet layered over our existing mat ( hence the additional $$). All of the weight and cushion needed, but a different feel and texture. Both mats are excellent for matrix, cups, shells, coins and cards. Check out the Celebrity photo gallery, all of these magicians use our mats. Our mats are 1/4 inch thich with a great surface and just the right cushion. We also custom cut sizes. For the $$ the original mats are a bit easier to transport and clean a bit easier if you do a lot of bar and reasaurant work. Call us with any questions 419-893-1944. Thank You for looking. Magically Yours, Pattrick

Hi Pattrcik!
I think I see the problem: From the Main Mats page, when I clicked on "Pro Mat 1" listed at $29 it brings me to the Order page for the "Plush Pro 1 Mat", but it is really an Original Mat unless you select a "Plush Color" from the "Mat Color Large" drop-down menu, which then bumps it to $39! Maybe it shouldn’t be called a "Plush Pro 1 Mat" - I think that was where my confusion started. I kept thinking I ordered the $29 mat but it kept telling me $39 when I started to pay!
OK, so I'll be ordering a plush black very shortly!
Thanks Pattrick!

Does anyone have an idea where and or how to acquire a close-up mat that measures 20” x 30”?

Pattrick can custom produce a mat in any size, color and/or shape you'd like. He made one to fit my Viking Criterion table which fits perfectly and looks great ... all priced rather affordably.

Perhaps the thread should be re-titled Pattrick's Close Up Pad fan club?

Just got my first mat from Patrick yesterday. Finally a mat that doesn't snag the shells for the shell game!
I'm going to order another for backup.

Our magic club had our logo printed on one.
It can be seen at : http://www.pattricksmagic.com/index.php/world-famous-mats/printing-artwork-on-your-mat/
It is the very last mat.
We are very happy with it, a very unique size to fit our special table and the customer service was outstanding.
