What's your favorite repositional glue for cards?

I've found that "Zig 2 Way Glue" lasts a long time and requires using very little. I also like "Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over" (great on your skin, too). "3M Remount" is good but not as clean over time. Another is stencil glue, but not as long lasting as the others. I find these all better than wax or double stick tape.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Duane

Duane,

I'm with ya on the anti wax and tape! I too use Aleene's but have also had fair to good result with Elmers repositioning glue stick and the 3M products!

Thanks, Mickey.

In case you were wondering... the glue on skin was referring to "card on forehead". Is the Elmer's greasy like the Scotch repositioning glue stick? I try to avoid glue that dirties up the other cards.

I use Elmers Repositional Stick a lot and Karl Hein showed me for one effect he uses Krylon Easy-Tack which doesn't transfer residue onto the card its sticking to

Thanks, guys, for your suggestions.

I found that Zig 2 Way is removable when it wears out - which is good because it doesn't harm the cards or build up. Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over has the best stickiness I found so far. I'm going to try those others mentioned as well.

I'm from Massachusetts, so I'm not sure what stores you have for crafts, but most craft stores carry them. Look in the scrapbooking isle for the Zig glue. Aleene's is with the other glues. You can get Zig online at:

Aleene's at: http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displ......m=gc0367

The zig 2 way glue is great. I just tried the Krylon Easy Tack and it seems to be more than strong enough to hold cards together. My issue is that it talks too much when separating. Anyone have a suggestion as to how to get the cards to talk less?

Funny thing is because of magic, I have never made so many trips to fabric stores, hardware stores and stationary stores. Tremendous resource.

Hahha, ever tried returning something, and when asked why, you answer, it wasn't magical enough?

I too frequent hardware and paper craft stores quite often. But when someone there asks if he can help me, I say "Ahm, yes. I am looking for ..... hmmm, ahm, no. No thank you. You can't help."
I need and buy things which are not used for what they were made or sold. It's always an improper use of stuff I buy.
That's a neat side effect of building magic props.

Exactly, I'm the last guy you would think of when I ask a clerk Uhh, Hi, Do you have double sided satin ribbon in 1/4", or my favorite - Do you have 1.5" nuts. ( well then how do you walk?!)

Oh yea glue - I also like Uhu stick and just picked up Avery removable glue stick, replicates the back of a post-it, not bad at all.

3M repositionable glue. Hard to find where I'm at though, I had to special order it in.

For my Thick Card, nothing beats 'Pritt Stick' (and I've tried most others).

Works like a dream - on Fox Lakes & Waddingtons anyway!

Does anyone use a dry mount press and mounting tissue to bind card parts together?

This is the brand that Richard Sanders recommended at his lecture. (BTW, Jo-Ann Crafts carries in their retail stores and Staples carries it online.)

Hi,

I thought you might be interested to know that I have written and compiled a book of effects which use the Zig 2 way / Changin' Glue. The Sticky Blue Book New Edition contains thirteen card magic and mentalism routines suitable for close-up and stage situations. Other contributors to the book include Max Maven, John Archer, Angelo Carbone, Peter Duffie, John Lenahan and others. The book comes complete with a Zig 2 Way / Changin' Glue Pen.

You can read more details here http://tvmagic.co.uk/catalog/product_inf......ts_id=46 and pick up a copy (and right now the folks at TVMagic.co.uk currently have a great deal on all purchases from their site).

Thanks to the guys at Murphy's Magic it is also available from magic dealers around the world and you should be able to pick it up from your favourite Magic Café sponsor.

You might be interested to know that I also have a couple of effects with 2 Way / Changin' Glue which can be found on my recently re-released and updated Dungeon DVD. You can check out a trailer and find more details here http://tvmagic.co.uk/catalog/product_inf......s_id=116 It is also distributed via Murphy's and available from your favourite dealer/Magic Café sponsor.
