Hi Guys
Does anyone know if there is the equivalent of a paddle move for a coin? e.g. appear to turn the coin over but show same side twice. I am trying to figure out a way to do this casually but convincingly. If anyone knows please can you point me in the right direction. All The Best |

There is the David Stone's turn over, and the Godfather has a move based on John Cornelius' idea.

Plenty of methods in Encyclopedia of Coin Sleights. Also, Roger Klause has one in his Sun and Moon routine (Sol et Lune?)
There are tonnes of methods in print. Scott. |

Fantasio offered a method in his lecture notes some time back.

There are several moves in the Encycopedia, including an improvement of the Fantasia move (actually his daughter's move). The original move was published in one
of the symposium books (I put out a new move in the nycms secret stuff notes that worked very well.

Starting on page 495 Flip Over View (Ken Krenzel, Vincent Sabatino, Aleix Badet, Oscar Weigle, Harry Lorayne, Sol Stone): 8 methods for showing two surfaces of a coin but actually showing one surface twice :) Thanks to the folks who put the index of the magazine online here .

Stanyon, there is a BIG problem with that move, it is the location of the fingers and the coin at the end of the move. I had developed mine independently, but she published first. Mine eliminates this faux pas, and is quite natural.

Hi TrueSoldier,
One method to show both sides of the coin to the audience when you are only showing one side is Pely's Secret Turnover, found on David Stone's Coin Magic Vol. 2. - "The Glove" routine. If you don't own the DVD, I recommend you get it!

Hi Douglas
Thanks for the reference Is the routine called the glove, because I have this DVD but I am looking at the reverse side of the cover where the menu is and there is no mention of the Glove routine. Are there any differences between the UK and US editions. Many Thanks Also to Vinny, Stanyon, Jonathan and Michael Rubinstein for further info Posted: Mar 26, 2010 1:53pm Aha, my mistake, I should have read more carefully. I assumed you meant the real secrets volume 2, however I now see you wrote Coin Magic Volume 2. |

You know I used to play around with doing a "flustration" count with coins...like having a C/S on top of a stack of four 3 silver coins, silver side up. Holding the stack in "biddle grip" of the right hand flash the bottom of the stack, and the slide the top coin (C/S) off with the left thumb into the left hand, then singly thumb off the coins with the right hand into the left. I hope that made sense...done quickly and casually, this is extremely effective as a convincer...

Your right this type of move can look great. I just recently picked up David Stones Coin Magic Volume 2 and he has a really nice Orlam Subtlety that he teaches with coins it's truly beautiful. |

Years ago before video assistance, a friend and I practiced different 'twirl' techniques for each other -- mostly learning what did not work. It seems the key is the lack of coin flash in the middle of the Twirl accentuated by a flash before and after. Make a video of yourself actually turning a coin over in your fingers of one hand. Now 'fake it' in a manner that exactly emulates the real thing. Maybe one of the suggested approaches will do this -- I haven't seen them all, but you can solve this problem by yourself.
