Hi!
If you don´t like to smash the egg over the spectator´s head you can crash the bag between your hands one feet over the spectator´s head, or even you can give the bag to be crashed by himself over his head or towards his chest. Just try Quique Marduk

How does this compare to Mello's Instinct?

Dear Mike:
I think that there is no point of comparison, they are different effects with very different methods

Just a suggestion - what if you have the volunteer smash the bag on you instead? Seems like there would be a lot more humor there, especially if you get a child doing it. I think the kids in my shows would be rather gleeful at that opportunity ...

Can the audience member mix up the bags?

I have had this for two months, and love the concept and everything else about it. However, I've not as yet been able to perform it. Reason being that the gimmick doesn't fit in with the one other thing you need to provide yourself for the trick. I live in the UK, and I can't find an exact match for the item I need at all. Hope this makes sense to other magicians who have the trick. Can anyone help? Is there a different gimmick I can use? Thanks.

Sorry Boohiccup- don't understand why you can't find the one thing that looks like the gimmicks? They have them- brown to white ones at the grocery store. I finally performed this at a kids show and brought up an adult to be my spectator who gets the bags smashed over his/her head. The kids got to pick what bag to smash. It went over VERY well. This is a wonderful concept/effect. Perfect for ANY age! Though you can get the same gimmicks at Tops Magic site for only $19.00! I hate to expose that but for $55.00- you get the gimmicks and a dvd that shows nothing but 1 performance. A little steep IMO. Just giving fellow magians heads up in this very tight economy.

Hi RNK.
Sounds like you have a very good routine there, and wishing you all the best with it. Regarding the extra item I need, you just don't get them like that over here in London. Shame. Generally they come as two standards, both the wrong size and colour. I have managed to find one "stockist" who can get the right colour but not the right size. Therefore I'm trying to find an alternative to the gimmick that is UK friendly. Or else I could always move to the US - that would be one extreme solution to my challenge! Thanks, Andy |

I love this, and have changed it completely. I allow the audience to decide on what bag to choose. I hand 2 bags to an audience member and let them feel the weight difference. They then hand me one of the bags to smash. I ham it up for all it's worth. I mix up the bags, and repeat the process. At the end I am clean, and all can be handed out, or disposed of.
Fun effect!
Your choices in life can be compared to watching a magic trick: You can continue to believe the illusion in front of you, find the intrigue and desire to learn more, or quit paying attention the moment you feel deceived.
