Craig Petty became interested in magic at the age of 18 and has been performing professionally for over 15 years. His main area of interest is close up magic and specifically coin magic. He has spent many years in the UK as a restaurant specialist and last year held over 30 residencies a month with his business partner.

It is a little known fact that Craig also is a busy Children’s Magician. For the last 7 years Craig has run Kids Love Magic (with his business partner Ethan Leeds) which is one of the busiest children’s entertainment companies in the UK. In fact, in September this year Craig has been asked to lecture at ‘Kidology’ on the subject of close up magic for kids.

In 2008 Craig published his first DVD ‘Attack of the Bag’ which was launched at the 2008 Blackpool Convention to great success. Since then Craig has published over ten DVD's and written two books on the art of sleight of hand with everything from coins, cards, pool balls and keys. His two latest DVD’s ‘Keymaster’ and ‘Pool Ball Miracles’ were released at this year’s Blackpool Convention. They have only been out a little over a month and already are having to have a second run issued.



Craig’s lecture ‘Accessible Coin Magic’ has been a hit all over the UK. It was developed and designed to try and convince more magicians to put down their cards and take up coin magic! In 2008 he performed this lecture for the Magic Circle HQ in London and after lecturing was awarded an associate member of the Inner Magic Circle with a Silver Star, thus becoming one of only a handful of performers ever to achieve this. Craig has just debuted his 2010 lecture ‘Locked In a Room Without Coins’ which is based around his critically acclaimed DVD of the same name.

In 2009 and 2010 Craig has been writing the hugely successful ‘World Of Fake Coins’ Series of Articles with Magic Scene Magazine. Each issue examines a different fake coin and offers a novel routine with the gaff. Considering the amount of gaffed coins available this could seemingly go on forever!

Finally in 2009 and 2010 Craig was invited to compete at the Blackpool Convention Close Up Competition. He is due to compete at the IBM Close Up Competition in September.
