The Generic magic Café question. If you could just choose one magic Book, DVD,or trick, why would this be the case? In other words what would be preventing
you from choosing others? I have never seen this answered.Books ,DVDs and tricks have been chosen, But no reason has been given as to why you could not choose more. Is it A government conspiracy? Is it a plot to destroy magic dealers? Could this be a way to restrict secrets or knowledge? Was George Orwell more prophetic than we Knew? If any of the above are true perhaps a pm might be the wiser move. |

Hey Glenn,
The answer is as simple as 1.21 jiggawatts. Time travel is chaotic. When you change one thing, you change everything (something about butterflies and pancakes or whatever, yada yada). So when our inevitable inventor tests out his time machine prototype (a phone booth outside Circle K), he goes back in time to 1983 and accidentally lands on Steve Guttenberg, killing him. Our inventor realizes the dire consequences: Police Academy will never get made! The earth depends on that film franchise, so he travels back to 1439 to pick up the closest replacement: Johannes Gutenberg. Sure, the films get made, but Johannes never invents the moveable-type printing, and thus the book industry is never formed. So if I want to take a book to a desert island, I'll have to take the author's one and only copy that he wrote by hand. I might be barely charming enough to persuade one author to relinquish control, but if you think I could get two, then you clearly don't know me at all. That question was far too easy. Next?
