Danny Cole created it and besides himself he only gave Cyril the rights to perform it as well. The best is to contact Danny and ask permission.
His web-site is: http://www.dannycole.net

Is danny interested in proving he created the matrix...cause from what I understand, his is a sitting style, not a full lean! And nobody has proven anything otherwise.

I'm not familiar with Danny Cole's lean/matrix effect. Is this a variation of the Bert Easley effect shown at

No Anatole..that is called The Lean.... Matrix as people call it, is where you go down in sitting position and its held, and then you lean back to where your back is parrallel to the ground yet legs remain standing straight up.

I see so many Youtube videos of this Matrix Suspension being performed nowadays. I even saw a youtube video, I think Russian TV, exposing the exact gimmick.

It is now being produced in China. A friend of mine gave one to me. It is adjustable. I just need to replace the shoe part.

In Yogano's book, he explains how to bring in the base without suspicion for his Yogano Levitation. This is applicable to the Matrix Suspension.
I was wondering if there is another way one could perform this aside from the way Cyril and Cris do it. I am thinking of an elevated platform.

I have been thinking about "Matrix Suspensiosn"! In fact, I saw in many youtube videos anyone performing this effect also!

In this very powerful magic effect two factors intervenets:

- Gimmick

- Electromagnet

Illusion looks pretty good on the video, other than that the performer seems tucked into an upstage corner while doing the move. Almost like he needs to be partly hidden in order to perform the effect.

Anyone own this one being sold by KAP Magic? Familiar with its limitations?

Newsmaya,
The video of Kapsmagic gives a very bad demonstration of the illusion.
You don't see the guy falling on his back.....

With all due respect to those posting otherwise, I have a difficult time believing this type of effect, or rather the method, can be proprietary to anyone in particular. It's just too common an idea for a suspension of any kind. If anything, rights should reside with the creators of the effect in the movie "The Matrix". It is commonly performed by street statue performers all over the world as well. And honestly, I've never seen a version where the performer is able to walk around freely before or after the effect which in my mind makes it merely a statue illusion. The versions by Cyril and Dynamo use video editing to suggest to the tv viewer that the performer is free of attachment and is either just arriving on the scene (Cyril) and stopping in the middle of the street or walking away (Dynamo) after the effect. To my mind, I would go to your local welding shop and talk to Bubba (he's the welder in the back with the overalls and the engineers cap) and describe what you need welded. It'll probably be a lot cheaper and more interesting. Then hide the anchoring portion under a carpet (or if you're taping a tv special then pre-anchor and disguise it in the boarwalk). Now, strap yourself in, and "suspend" away. Be sure to take pre/post shots of you walking around to make it look like you could have just stopped anywhere and performed this.

Sorry fort the sarcasm but this particular suspension is a bit of a bugbear of mine.

And likely 1/5 of the quality! 52magic is NOTHING but ripoffs of authentic effects. I bought TONS of stuff from them in bulk - only to discover I didn't get a single legitimate item! But not only are the items ripoffs - they are HORRIBLE quality! Never again...

I got Micro Psychic from there, seems to be genuine although it was considerably cheaper.
