Hi Tenyo Hobbyists

If you were allowed to perform only ONE or TWO Tenyo products.

What would it be ? Which effect is the Greatest ! and Examinable ! before and afterwards must fall in this criteria very strictly.

I am curiuos to find out how people think and what they choose.

To match all of your criteria its Bird Watcher for me.

However, I don't think Tenyo has ever topped Crystal Clever for visual impact. It's examinable afterwards as long as you don't let them have the devise for a long time. The sword and ring are completely examinable. It's just a shame for performers that it looks like a toy. Otherwise its the perfect Tenyo trick.

Gotta go with Crystal Clever and Prison Box. Both left me losing sleep at night until I had an idea of the workings (uh, call me a loser). They are both sick, sick, pieces of wizardry.

Prison Box is a great one too.

Other one that I think works well and is completely examinable before and after is Magical Door. You have to very slightly manage the examination but that is extremely easy and natural with this trick.

Burgler Ball & Parabox. Both are exanamable, BB before and afterward & Parabox afterward.

BTW does anyone have a Parabox for sale? Have researched to no avail.

Thanks,
John

Along with the items mentioned some favorites of mine that can be examined are:

Mystery China Box T-201
Grand Derby Prediction T-195
Dragon Altar T-149
Wonder Window T-114
Super Phanto Block T-74

A few others that are examinable and fit the criteria:

Mystery Triangle T-221
Ultimate Shocking Pen T-214
Lucky Rabbit T-188
Vault Vision T-135
Coin in Nest T-73
Glass Board T-26
Dice Vision T-4

If I had to pick just two it would be Mystery China Box and Dragon Altar. Both are examinable before and after, have a clear effect and are fun to do.

One of the greatest, but lesser known Tenyo apparatus is JUMBO SIDE TRACK. The jumbo card can be examined, but the "carrying case" cannot> this has never proven to be a consideration. Terrific Zig-Zag Card effect!

Yes it's true Julie Side track is very impressive trick.

For Side track, in the instruction, Tenyo explains that you can let the audience do all the effect itself, you just have to hold the case. This makes it extremely powerful effect because the viewer does everything himself ( take and examine the jumbo card, put it in the case, pull the middle, back up the middle and remove the card from the case and yet he understand nothing while everything passes a few centimeters from his eyes! Very clever tricks !

Why does the object have to be examinable both before and after the trick is performed in order for it to be considered one of Tenyo's greatest tricks?

It doesn't Richard, that was the criteria put forward by the original poster. There are of course many great Tenyo tricks that cannot be examined, Ultra Tube for example.

My vote is for Crystal Cleaver.

Nice size and design.

Examinable before and after.

Repeatable.

Can use a borrowed object.

Cool prop with the sword.

With thanks to all those who participate in this forum, here is an alphabetized compilation of examinable Tenyo's, and some of the comments. These were taken from this and the post in 2010:

Against Gravity (after 'dumping' ...)
All the Sponge Ball tricks -Slieght of Hand (SOH) required
Alpha Tunnel (after 'dumping' ...)
animation frame - I can't imagine someone not finding the gimmick with this one
Billscape (when doing the credit card version)
Birdwatcher
burglar ball - before and after
Card Case (afterwards) -
Coin and Glass (afterwards)
Coin in Nest (adjusted a bit)
Coin Through Match
Confined Cubes - if its set up and ready I don't think this would be obvious
Crossroads – After.
Crossroads -not examinable unless you are a bit of a skilled magician imho..
Crystal Box
crystal cleaver - afterwards
Crystal Clever
cubio
Diabolicus
Dice Vision T-4
Dragon Altar
Dynamic Coins-(be careful though)
Enchanted Strings I might allow the spectator to pull on the strings I would not hand it out to be freely handled
Eye of the Idol -you can't let them play too long but its too nice not to display.
flash dice
Fortune Sticks
Frame of Destruction?
Funny Dog (sleight of hand (soh) required)
Future Clock - Clock out of the case
Glass Board T-26
Grand Derby Predicion
Infinitum locks so that's an excellent one.
Invisible zone I will take the gimmick off and hold it openly in my hand while they examine the pen.
JUMBO SIDE TRACK
Knife of the Ninja - get rid of the gimmick smoothly first.
Koornwinder Kar
krazy keys (after, not before?)
Lancelot
Little Saving Box
Lucifer's Lock
Lucky Rabbit
Magic Painting takes more practice, You have to dump the gimmick
Magical Door
Merlin's Coffer- not the cover though...
Mira Metal - get rid of the gimmick smoothly first.
Mirage more of a riddle when you give it out for examination actually
Moon spinner - I would say no unless a duplicate is there and you are skilled.
Mystery China Box if spectators are 'careful'
Mystery Poodle
Mystery Triangle T-221
Nostradamus Clock: wonderfull 'locking' mechanism!
Parabox at the end
Presidents cabinet!
Prison Box
Sandwich Platter - briefly you need the trick 2 times however (anyone who owns the tricks knows why).
Scratch Card
Silver express (after 'dumping' ...)
soft coins - OK afterwards, the gimmick is easily locked at end of trick.
Sponge Rabbit (some soh required)
squeeze play – ok
Super Phanto Block
Sycro Boxes (at least for a short time)
Telestar
Tunnel of Darkness - get rid of the gimmick smoothly first
Ultimate Shocking Pen T-214
Ultra Slice - the bottom tray would not be examinable because of slot alignment issues?
Vault Vision T-135
Wonder Window
X-Ray File (Maybe for a short time?)
Zone infinity - I wouldn't give it for CLOSE examination

Thanks for the list Edshern. I would go with Grand Derby Prediction or Birdwatcher if I only could choose one.
