I think it would be really cool if they could include the glasses we see them wearing in their avatar! Would add a nice "fun" aspect to the effect.

X-Ray Specs are very easy to find, for example here. If you GOOGLE the product, you'll find a number of other sources as well.

Nice one Larry. I actually found that webpage but failed to notice the buyitnow link on the right, Doh. And the funny thing is, they are cheaper now than they were in the 70's, well cheaper than in the UK anyway.
