Can a coin envelope be used in lieu of the velvet bag? I perform mentalism and love a routine involving hypnosis that may be neat with this.

I just bought it after passing for years. Too many guys here are in love with it and I value the feedback here. I clearly know what I am buying and stayed away due to the price for what we get but the EFFECT on the audience is really what we pay for and you've convinced me. Thank you for all your input and helping me make my decision.

For such a “basic” gaff and a collection of coins many already have laying around, the routine absolutely kills. I cannot believe the reactions I get out of something so simple compared to some of the harder to do SOH effects I do as well as some way more expensive gaff sets. This one is a real worker.

My latest coin unique £1, 20p is super super strong and cannot be rotated unless you are Hercules so I am presuming this will work for the routine exactly the same? Olly

Since the shape of those coins is a plus maybe you can make it about shapes which is perhaps more appropriate for taking out of their pocket. I'm sure yo can come up with something. |

Obviously they bring out the 1 pound. Place gimmick coin in your pocket and replace with a 20p. Thrust your hand toward their trouser pocket and show them the 20p stating that you’ve just pickpocketed them. They laugh as you ask them to confirm that you did pickpocket them. To their amazement there is no 20p left in their pocket. I know this is awesome as I perform it myself with the exact gimmick. |

I have been a member here for many years but I have not posted before. I recently picked this up and wanted to say how much I enjoy it. I go through dozens of items before I find something that I like enough to add to my strolling set and this fits the bill. Pocket Money packs small and plays big. The fact that Pocket Money is essentially a full routine makes this so much more than a simple gimmick. I like that it can be preformed both in the spectator's hands or in their pocket. I have found that when preforming only in the hands (no pocket used) it is important to be clear that the spectator should keep the original hand with the coins in it closed when the first prediction is made and they pull the first two coins out (this is so that they do not open the original hand and see only 2 remaining coins too early in the routine). The gimmick is very high quality, I even had a bit of trouble determining which of the coins was gimmicked at first glance. I also like that this works as well being preformed in Europe as it does in the US (other regions work too!). Although the international coins that it comes with are not the best quality, I think that they are fine (plus they can easily be swapped out), especially since many people travel to Mexico and China, it is easy for me to mention that one friend recently brought the Chinese coin back from China, that my coworker recently brought the Mexican coin back from Mexico, and that my uncle recently brought back the small Asian coin back from Taiwan (although I believe it is South Korean). Overall this is a great trick, I highly recommend it, and I can't wait to continue preforming it.

I have had this for a few years, and while I love the concept I find that the gimmick is too strong. If I place the coins on a table or in my own hand the gimmick has to be as far away as possible or it closes too soon. I can't imagine placing it on a spectator's hand. Anyone else seeing this?
Thanks! Jim |

Yes, I would prefer it to be a bit less strong. Certainly there are ways you can work around it but it comes at a small price. In a perfect world this would not be a concern and you could perform it more freely and openly and without worry. Not to say that this is a huge deal, it just bugs me when a gaff is so close to being perfect and with a just little adjustment it could be.
