For those who own the fantastic Psypher effect, a new and fairly cool tip:

The gimmick apparently has a clear plastic protective "film" that can easily be peeled away at the front.

This is not mentioned in the DVD or anywhere else I have seen thus far. It seems that the imp works even better once this clear film is removed.

This type of film is typical of many products, but it isn't obvious and perhaps some may decide to just leave it on. The gimmick seems to be very durable and the removal of the film would not seem to be detrimental.

Check it out - Psypher is a fantastic product!

Someone on the board questioned the safety of removing the clear film, which is a very legitimate concern.

I'm no expert my any means but the clear film on the front seems to be designed to "pull away" with zero effort, and does not (to me) appear to harm the integrity or safety of the gimmick.

I would love to hear from Mandy or someone at PaperCrane as to whether they usually pull this clear film away - It seems like the same stuff as when you buy a new appliance or chrome that is covered and protected with film.

I think the removal of it seems to add just a tad more oomph to the impr.

The clear film is only a protective sheet like mobile phones or any delicate surface.
Like you said - taking out less layer and better impression

I removed the plastic film off mine a month ago. Discovered it by accident. Your right, much better imp.

I actually discovered that all my children also have this clear plastic protective film. I removed it and they all seem to function much better.
Thanks for the tip.

Yes, that is correct. We actually did not realize that the gimmick worked better with the layer off but knew that it could be removed. Thanks for sharing the tip.
