Axel is a very good teacher. The routine is well worth it and gets great reactions it has some advantages over a traditional chop cup and there are some things that you can do with this that are impossible with a traditional chop cup. My advice would be to get it, if you don't like it selling it would be very easy. I wouldn't get rid of mine, also the cup looks better with age so if you get it practice practice practice Hope this helps |

I have searched on the internet to see if "Just a Cup" is being sold anywhere's Stateside, but it doesn't look like it. I was hoping Axel had someone in the States distributing it for him. I see some great reveiws in the Café for this cup, but never see it used much.

Axel is a one man band, with excellent customer service. He is also a busy man, but you won't have to wait long.

I purchased Just a Cup and Spoonaround from Axel and they each took about 3 weeks
to receive. I live in WA state. It's worth the wait though ;-) |

Is there other way to contact Axel other than his email? mail@axelhecklau.com

I too have always had a good response from Axel. Perhaps he has been on tour.

I checked order status via Axel's website.
It does provide tracking info. (thanks google translate) Don't know why I check there at the first place, but I should be all set. Eager to get it in hand. |

If you are going to perform in an educational environment (focus being on maths in this context) "Just a up" is absolutely a must - the impossible seems to becaome possible with this dice (..and the dice theme is interesting anyways if you add magic-cubes or Craig's MD and so on)

Hi guys!
Merry Christmas! Just bought this as a gift to myself. My sisters sent $$$ for gifts so this was not as big a dent in my wallet. I trust him. Axel has passed the litmus test. So I PayPalled him the $$$ (actually Euros). Now the wait. I watched Axel's two demo videos several times. I know how this works. This fooled ME the first time I saw it! If you know me, you know THAT is rare! I like the review the other German guy gave. He made me laugh out loud when he criticized Axel's German accent! I absolutely LOVE the German accent! It reminds me of "home", when I lived in Germany. Playing at the Kegelbahn, enjoying nights out with my German friends. This may not be my only purchase from Axel. I know German engineering. I just saw Easy Cube. I also have seen some other interesting things...I'll get back to ya on that... Doug |

What is nice about his magic is it is price just high enough to keep the only curious crowd away.

I totally agree! Have and love it!! Axel's stuff is always wonderfully worked out and highly functional in most performing circumstances.

Ya know...In 2001 or so, I came up with a way to do The Chop Cup with any coffee cup, Styrofoam or plastic cup. Then, I bought Prohibition from Charlie Justice. Exactly the same gimmick, different use. Just by watching Axel's demo vids, I can duplicate almost exactly what he is doing. But now, I can do it WITHOUT guilt! I have paid for it. He says I have the right to present it. My version works pretty well. I think he adds CLASS to the whole thing. The leather cup and die. A common thing in bars across Germany! Right now, I'm playing with a Chop Ball and a bathroom cup. Axel's moves are BRILLIANT!
I'm really looking forward to seeing his DVD vid. Although it says this can be performed surrounded, there are one or two instances where...maybe NOT, ya know? I can see TWO in particular here. Plus, I have a couple of my own which are a bit angle sensitive. But with a one inch crocheted ball. The die is smaller. It makes a noise, too. That is advantageous. I believe I can duplicate that noise. 'Nuff said. A die in a leather cup. The cup is just a bonus. The gimmick and die are the real stars, but the price, I believe is for the performance rights. There is VALUE in this package. This fooled me the first time I saw it. I had NO clue! And I had all I needed back in 2001! Crazy. THe thing about mine is, my gimmick is not "portable". It's kind of a major set up. Axel's, I believe, IS portable! And I know Axel knows his "tech". Things have gotten smaller and more effective since those days. I have studied this tech for other purposes. We, as magicians, are expected to be able to do Magic with things like coffee cups. I thought I had a pretty good "handle" on it. This goes light years beyond! You get two white dice and one red one. Only one white die is special. Axel has covered ALL the bases! OK! Have I gushed enough? Sheesh! Doug |

Is there a full demo video of the routine, I see cuts in the demo video so a full performance would be great?

I think there was a full performance on his Penguin lecture. Several other ideas/bits on the DVD.
