And the one you consider the best. I'm planning on doing this for a performance next month, so I'm looking at which version to do. Thanks in advance for your responses guys!

David Regal's version - or the standard one will work just fine, too.

Paul Gertner has a real nice version that uses a prediction that he tosses out on a paper plane. It fooled most of the magicians in attendance at his lecture. Even if you have seen TOD, you forget that his version uses the same principle.

Each of us are different performers. It is our individual personality that really makes 'the best' for ourselves. What may be best for me could very well be an unlikable or 'just does not feel right' process for you. I know I have purchased different versions of the same effect, looking for the best method. I asked a friend to tell me which method looked better and I did 4 different versions for him. When I was done, he looked at me and asked me which was the most comfortable. The end effect is what the audience sees, not the method. We magicians are the only ones that worry about the method. And yes, for us, method seems like it is everything, when in reality, the destination/audience reaction is what we strive for. So in the long run, the best method will be the one that you are comfortable with and the audience reactions are what you are striving for and your best method will be sohaib's tossed out deck:) |
