There are others but virtually everyone will tell you that Promystic is the best because it is...

However, speak of customer service, technology and overall feedback from working-pro and amaeturs like, Pro-Mystics is rank among the best known in the industry and most of its products widely used by professional magicians / mentalist in their performance. I do have a thought that from time to time I refrain to tell beginners this brand because it takes time for begineers to earn necessary experience in performance before they should look into such high-end reliable product-line (similar thought I read on a post on Genii forum that most best known mentalist once were accomplished sleight of hand close-up magicians in their early career, and that experience was so important ingredient for sucess in mentalism becuase all magic involve the same experience in terms of performance, effect construction, attention control, audience managment, scripting... etc), once you got one Pro-Mystic item you are so sure that all you need is a wonderful presentation and your audience will experience wonder and amazement in magic.

Hi everyone. I just purchased my first ProMystic effect a few days ago which was ColorMatch (The original, not ColorMatch Pocket). I am absolutely blown away by this effect. It is completely reliable and the props supplied are beyond any reasonable scrutiny. Craig and Bobby at ProMystic also went out of their way to answer all my questions and ship to me on the same day, so I am very impressed with the customer service at ProMystic. I am so in love with ColorMatch that I am already pondering my next ProMystic purchase. It looks like it has come down to Multi Dimensional or MD Mini. My question is, are there any advantages to the full sized MD compared to the mini? Personally I am drawn to the full sized version as I am not really too concerned with portability. However, I wanted to get the thoughts of MD Mini owners or owners of both versions. Ultimately, I hope to get both versions from ProMystic. I am trying to decide which to buy first. Thank you.

I owned an MD mini at one time but ended up exchanging it for Real Die.
Real Die is just a much more natural and organic object, and I personally found it much easier to do as you can detect their selection directly and literally tell them their number rather than have to secretly translate a number to determine their color. |

Hi videoman. I appreciate the insight. I shall consider the Real Die as an alternative to MD Mini. I can see your point that there would be one less thing to memorize which is an advantage. Thank you very much.

If budget is no object than RD is a great option. For me mini MD is one of my favorite go to items. It looks exactly like what you say it is... a cheap key chain fob from a dollar store. I also find colors allow for more interpretation and light cold reading. Memorization is minimal and after playing with it for an hour you will have that down. I mainly use it in informal situations so for me a key chain fob looks a little more natural than a die. Both are great products.

Hi J M Talbot. Thank you for your thoughts. I agree that both are great products. The Mini MD is indeed very convincing as a key fob from the dollar store. I appreciate your insight as it helps my decision making process.

I have both but mainly use the Mini MD - it's always on my key chain and so always ready to use. The colour stickers have to be replaced on a regular basis but Craig sells sheets for $5

Thanks egoli. I appreciate your opinion. Just trying to decide which one to get next. I am saving up for both eventually. I already have ColorMatch.

For the color/number issue... I simply draw with a sharpie the same dots (from 1 to 6) of a real die on each face (in the right order of course).
I often say : "let's use the numbers you saw here instead of the colors because with the ambiant light, some can make some mistakes". But I also can say : "do you prefer color or number". It give the spectator a choice and that is important even if it doesn't really change anything. |

Hey warec. That's a good idea. Thanks. I appreciate the suggestion. I'll have to remember that.

Is the MD Mini still be used.
