SWITCHBLADE - Dan Harlan

Color changes, vanishes, transpositions and more... This one gimmick does is all!

Switchblade is a precision-made mechanical device that looks like an ordinary card but this clever gimmick is extraordinary! This modern tool eliminates difficult sleight-of-hand allowing you to perform impossible card magic.

Change one card into another, make the back visually change color, perform an incredible 3 Card Monte, vanish a selected card from your hand and it reappears in the deck held by the spectator... an more! In the included video instructions, Dan Harlan personally performs and teaches you how to use your Switchblade gimmick to do all of this without the hard work.

The best part is Switchblade is so versatile and fun to use that you'll be coming up with your own routines in no time. Previously only available to a select few, Harlan has finally made his ingenious gimmick available to you so that you can experience the thrill of Switchblade!

Interesting. I like your video. A lot of complete performance. Not a lot of hype. (Okay the opening waving the knife around is silly.)

He's waving a switchblade. Hence the name of the effect!

Just in case any of you were wondering the gimmick is supplied with the purchase of the download/dvd so there is nothing for you to make, just open the case and start playing with it immediately. This gimmick is also VERY DURABLE you do not need to be delicate there are no threads or anything else that would require you to be gentle, this thing takes a beating and still works great.

yes I know.

It's still silly. He looks silly. He's obviously not a martial artist.

How do you provide a gimmick in a download? Is some construction required or do you mail it to downloaders?

We send the gimmick by mail but you get the instructional download immediately.

That way you can come up with ideas for it immediately. Again the gimmick is sent by mail and it is complete, no craftwork

Just ordered it out of pure curiosity. The video download is 40 minutes long with approx. 20 minutes of instruction and the rest is performances. After seeing the gimmick the name Switchblade is indeed an appropriate name. Its pretty clever and it would seem (not having the gimmick in hand yet)that it will take a bit of practice to do smoothly albeit not difficult. As with many card gimmicks you are restricted to the use of one card, i.e. the King of Clubs as seen in the demo, but you at least have the option of ordering a Red or Blue back. I really can't see having any problems in wearing out this gimmick as long as you don't bend it as in having it in a deck and doing a riffle shuffle. After downloading the video I opted to place it on a DVD disk rather than taking up 262MB of space on my hard drive. All in all nice work Dan, but you have to something about that hairdo! Smile

Its a little thicker than a normal card but not noticeable in the hands or in the deck.

This may be a new method, but I have been doing this for many, many years, only my middle card changes to my bussiness card with a bicycle back and the spec can keep it, it is a commercial effect, I wish I could remember the name, all I did was use my printed bus. card,

Very nice. It reminds me a bit of Slither and some of those other JB magic card gimmicks. Maybe it's just the handling but this looks better. Well done Dan.
