Jamie,
I have seen your impossible bottles on your website and am impressed that the deck is sealed. What a great piece of workmanship! I first read about the idea of the impossible bottle from Paul Harris' Art Of Astonishment where he talked about Harry Eng and the Eng Bottles. What was your inspiration for making these creations? When did you get started? How many tries did it take before you had a good workable solution? - Jeff

Hi Jeff!
Welcome to the Café! I'm honoured that your first post is here. With regards to the "Anything Is Possible" bottle... A few years ago (7 or 8?) I was a "big?" poker player. I played a lot and was pretty involved in the scene (I've even written for BLUFF Magazine). As a result, I really wanted to capitalize on the poker boom and the creation of all these Poker Rooms that people were building. I forgot one important thing, though: Poker players don't spend money on art (for the most part). They spend it on poker, lol...Fellow magicians, on the other hand, embraced it with open arms- for which I'm forever grateful! As for how many tries: Hundreds. Seriously. I would come home every night and devote countless hours trying to find the perfect technique. And I'm still learning. I've sold over 1000 AIP bottles now and I'm amazed that I can still find nuances. I love art.

This is what they look like (for anyone just tuning in):
The square milk bottle is what makes mine so unique to me. There's other bottle creators~ some of whom do absolutely amazing work; but if you want an authentic "Anything Is Possible" bottle, look for the green writing, from the dairy, on the back.

Ok I couldn't take it anymore so I broke open my AIP bottle only to find... a regular deck of cards. It's official...I hate you! LOL

Jamie,
Thanks for the interesting background on the 'Anything Is Possible' bottles. I think you have given me the inspiration to try one myself. It sounds like I will have to try it many times to get the results I want. I may end up ordering one from your site. Do you take requests - that is - can I request one with Red Bicycle Rider backs with the classic case? - Jeff

Hiya Jeff~
I only ask that if you do, to take the time to put your own artistic voice into your work. I recently had someone buy an AIP Bottle and then source out where I buy the bottles and tried selling them as his own- yikes! I'm not saying that this is anything you would ever consider doing, but I think it's enough of a concern amongst us that I need to throw it out there. And that's what makes art what it is- the person behind it. His (in my case) experiences, his voice, his journey. I wish you all the best on yours! ~jamie

Jamie,
I also create art in my spare time, not sure where I get the spare time anymore. I can send you a few links to some pieces I have done in a PM if you are interested. I am in 100% agreement with you that an artist needs to make the piece there own. You have created a great piece and established a market for it. You own it, man!! - Jeff
