Is this not simply Fearson's hookup with an ITR? I just saw this advertised on penguin and thought I stepped back into the 90s.
All small town magicians know what 793.8 signifies.

The DVD and instruction are superb. The ITR is not so good. A nightmare to fix once the thread breaks which could be a nightmare at a show. I'm still looking for that reliable ITR after trying out this and junk like the spider pen.

I actually thought the ITR that comes with this set is perfect. I have had quite a few various ITR's in the past, so I guess I'm used to the handling of these delicate devices and just being careful with the mechanics of it. The ITR that's included (the Boss) is super silent and smooth compared to a lot of the others. Sorcery Shop definitely did a superb job in my opinion.
As for the instruction and the DVD... Magick provides great insight on the repairs, maintenance and care of the the ITR. I haven't had any issues yet and all my performances with it have been pretty pleasant so far. |

My experience with the ITR has also been great. This is one of my best purchases in the past few years. What a great value: the ITR and a terrific DVD which clearly covers the use and repair of the ITR. Very highly recommended!

Just saw this and was really amazed. I'm going to order this. I have never done any ITR-magic before, but I will certainly work hard to learn everything . So I understand you usually use wax with IT/ITR, do you need to get (more) wax for this, or is everything you need included? Any other extras you might need with this?

I would suggest getting some more wax if you think you might lose the piece. Make sure its NOT the card on ceiling wax, as that wax is too soft and can get into the ITR and ruin it. The best thing about using an ITR for this effect is that you have nothing to hide in your hands, nothing to ditch, no batteries to worry about, no motors, no loose thread being carried around on a playing card, etc. etc. An overlooked bonus on this DVD is the lime in drink effect taught by Magick. Imagine having someone hold their drink with a lime/lemon wedge on the edge of the glass and making it visually jump into the glass without touching it. (check out the trailer to see this). Its SO powerful! Alex^ |

Got the DVD and the ITR this week. Really good and lots of info. Anyone have a suggestion where to put the ITR if you don't wear a shirt, but only a t-shirt? I have tried different positions but the thread easily breaks due to the weird positions on the t-shirt.

I just want to comment on a couple of points I saw through this thread.
For the people struggling with fixing the Boss (knowing how to fix it when it REALLY goes haywire is still a plus in this DVD though) - you definitely want to check out an Alpha. It comes with kevlar by default but that brings me to point 2) You can replace the core in both the boss that comes with this set and the Alpha or any other sorcery ITR with Vectra, another Kevlar, Wooly Nylon, or even Spectra. There are cores that easily convert one to the other and it's no harder than the disassembly shown in this video. They sell all of that at myitr.com or a few other places like Fearson's site. The Titan is just an alpha with Vectra string. I personally think the actual top of the line ITR in 2013 is the Locking ITR that is essentially a Titan or Alpha with Vectra and a locking mechanism. It's just that the locking one is like $80 - a little steep at the moment. I plan to get around this by being clever with my hookups and using the aforementioned Z-Grip. The alpha/titan design is appealing because you can fix it in a few mere seconds on the spot. I plan on using my Alpha, making my own elastic loops and using my wen spinner from Fearson's site to mix up how I levitate objects - keep em guessing. The spinner actually has some retraction now but it shouldn't be treated as a full ITR replacement. It's just something to help you instantly get at any of the popular strands and maintain wax and all of that on the go. It helps you strip and perform with IT. I've only used loose thread in the past with Fearson's hookup so I'm super excited about using an ITR. I've done an absurd amount of research into all the thread types available and ITRs and other various reels over the last week so I am fairly up to date. I just need to get mine now (stupid 4th of July stopping shipping!) and start practicing. I might buy this dvd on sale someplace and it'd be nice to have an extra boss lying around. I might even pop a spectra core in it to use for ultra fine up close work |

I have purchased this product recently and started using it the day before yesterday. I broke the thread 4 times I think. And after a moment, I realized I used up all the thread affixed to the ITR in less then one hour of practice. That doesn't make sense. That's a nightmare. I don't know what kind of thread (a non elastic one I suppose ? Is it a Kevlar ?) this ITR is using and I'm not sure how to install the thread inside the ITR when I buy a new thread. Do any of you have this problem ?
