In the age of smartphones, why does anyone carry a datebook around with them?
If you do a version of the Diary trick involving a memdeck and the correlation of card to date explained in sources such as Happy Birthday from Simon Aronson's Simply Simon, or Memorized Standards: The Birthday Book from Michael Close's Workers 5, you can now use your smartphone as your diary - and for free! Below is a link to a zip file containing a text file explaining the nature of the card calendars zip file, and 5 .ics files (standard iCalendar format - importable by most calendar programs). Each of the .ics files corresponds to a particular memorized deck: Aronson, Joyal in CHaSeD order, Joyal in SHoCkeD order, Osterlind/BCS, and Tamariz/Mnemonica To be clear, no methods or presentations are described, but sources for these are listed in the text file. These files only provide the data needed to put the appropriate card on the appropriate day for any of the aforementioned memorized decks. Before downloading, you may want to consult your phone's calendar app to see if it can import iCalendar format, and how to do so. You can download the file itself for free by clicking on this link: http://members.cox.net/econalc/files/card_calendars.zip |

Interesting iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad bug that comes into play with this.
The cards are set up as all-day events, but any all-day event set up on the Sunday after Daylight Saving Time goes into effect will show up across two days. This is because all-day events are set up for 24 hours, but the day after Daylight Saving Time is only 23 hours long. This is really only noticeable in the month view on the iPad, and shouldn't affect any routines. If someone asks about it, just explain the Daylight Saving Time bug. |

You're welcome, Sean.
If you use it in performance, I'd love to hear how it goes! I used it with Simon Aronson's "Happy Birthday" from Simply Simon the other day, and the audience was stunned. |

I'll be taking this down Sunday night (March 20th), due to bandwidth concerns from my ISP. So, if you're going to download it, do it before then!

The files have now been removed. Sorry.
