Dear All,

Does anyone have a second hand Floating Mic Stand from Don Wayne that they would be willing to part with?

Failing that does anyone have an uptodate e-mail address for Don as the old earthlink one that I have is not current?

Thanks,

John

The effect is that a microphone stand levetates behind and in front of a cloth. It looks like a zombie, but it is much more effective.

OK. Thanks. I didn't want to confuse it
with the microphone suspension.

Hi you can get this on Hocus-Pocus. In fact it's been enhanced to a floating and growing microphone stand. It is a very short stand to start with. And then grows while floating into a full size one. Do you understand what I mean Marshall Thornside? And by the way...why do you have a girls pic posted as your avatar image?

Hi All,

I own a Don Wayne floating mike. It's a very good prop and will take some time to perform in front of audience.

I agree with Kuffs, Luis Dematos has a great performance of the effect on his website. Most moves and ideas in dematos performance are on the video which comes with Don's Mike.

The only thing I'd say is to not buy the ATA case that Don sells, it's very heavy and sponge is not cut out for the prop.

As for technicals... The great thing is you can do the effect with a jacket or open shirt. My suggestion is to have a reason to have a mike, if you perform mainly with a head set, it will look odd to take out a mike. so I keep it on stage and use it for a few routines (audience participation...).

All in all, a little pricy but great effect!

Any Idea if the Hocus Pocus works the same as the Don Wayne? Because the diffrent in price is huge: $1500 to $100.

The Don Wayne version I mentioned doesn't appear grow etc. It floats and that's it but the one on Hocus Pocus has added effects.

Pretty sure the hocus pocus effect hooks up like like a zombie...

With Don Wayne's mic, you can do some nice manuvers which really looks like it's floating especially when you let go of the mike with BOTH HANDS!

Lot's and lot's of practice needed but I think it's worth it... then again, I think you need to look at your working conditions.

The floating mic cannot be performed surround but can be done on a plaform, stage, or same level as audience. Also, if you can't have music, you can still do the effect although, won't play as nice... When I say you got to look at your work conditions, you also have to look at your own repertoire. Where would you fit this effect? Are you looking for a closer, opener, middler...

Before buying it, just make sure you can get a nice 3 minute effect out of it, if your budgets tight, then I'd go many less expensive effects to build up your show.

Bottom line is, if you're looking for something that can play big or smallER, then consider the effect. PM me if you need more info.

He does not have a website. Call him and he can sell you some of his products direct. YOu can get his floating ball from many big suppliers.

The number is listed above from zigmont.
