Recently I had the pleasure to read and to test the latest
work of J. Parger LIEBRARY.

This is a modern book test, in fact it uses ebooks in pdf format.
There are other versions on the market about this effect, but
the Prager's version has the advantage that it works on any device.

Just I tested it on my Notebook at home and on my smartphone: Nokia N900.
(In my opinion, the ideal performance is on smartphone, because you have it
always and you are always ready to go.)

This is what I performed with my friend using my N900:

I asked my friend to select a pdf any pdf on my phone.
He selected one and I instructed him to select a page and to select a word
as I turned my back.
As he as read a word, I asked him to close the pdf and to put aside the smartphone.
Few second and without he said anything I revealed his word correctly...

Amazing the reactions!!!

I started to improve the Prager's effect and as I have a good one I will share with him in order he can share with everyone.

The idea of J. works in iPhone. Very nice idea

You get 7 eBooks. Normal eBooks but gimmicked in a classic way .

Very hands off handling. This product isn't an application, is a real eBook.
As a matter of fact, J. in the explanation eBook saids that he use this eBooks in his computer, but CAN be use in iPhones and for any unprepared performances can be a great solution for a book test.

Just I want to share my experience and how I used this effect in my act as icing on the cake. ;-)

I am back from a very long magic session (4 hours without any pause)
and my last 4 effects are been a sequence of mental effects and the last has been my personal
version of Sublte Scam, so I said: "Tonight, I would have wanted to try something a bit different with a book, a real experiment based on remote viewing, but I don't have one.
Because this experiment is really strong, I thought a method to try it the same.
The idea is to use not a book, but an ebook and, on my smartphone, I have many ebooks... "

I performed Prager effect and I killed again everyone.

(To be honest tonight I am been very lucky: The spectator had read badly a word: "Thought instead Throughput"
I made the same error and the outcome has been the same a success! )

Like most great mentalism effects, J. Prager's LIEBRARY is elegant in its simplicity.

I was lucky enough to get a review copy to try out. I first used it on a Blackberry Curve 8530 using the Repligo PDF Reader. With a small amount of research I was able to get this to work like a charm. I like it a lot. In fact I think I will be buying extra ebooks to put with the 7 that come with it for a wider array of choices. Very cool & super easy...leaves a lot of room for actual performance & drama!

This little book test packs a wallop!

I have performed this a few times already and each time something great has happen. The people who used my computer or my NOOK didn’t question anything about using an E-book and were truly flabbergasted. They did not question the format of using an E-book nor thought anything was done by electronics devices. They just simply believed that I read their mind.

There have been some really great book tests produce in the past and in the last couple of years. I am not going to name any of them but you guys know what they are. I would put LIEBRARY alongside each and every one of them.

Using LIEBRARY lets you reveal the word anyway that you like. You are totally free to concentrate on your acting abilities and have no worries of missing the thought of word. There is not one question you need to ask the spectator about their word. With LIEBRARY they look up a word and you look them in the eyes and tell them what it is. This is what mind reading is all about. Everyone that I have done this for all ended up the same. They each had a big grin on their face and a dumbfound look. They each really thought that I have entered their mind and pulled out their thought of word. It just don’t get any better than that.

My opinion:

For 15 bucks you will receive a file that contains 8 different eBooks. Each eBook allows you to create one mindreading effect, for that reason if you want to repeat the effect , you need to use a different eBook.

The "explanation" eBook is just 2 pages long, and althought the methodology is super simple and easy the idea can be expanded and analyse in a more profound way.
This eBook works in iPhone ( from personal experience) and for that reason you can have hundreds of "normal" eBooks and be always ready to performr a eBook Test.

One criticism for the eBooks is the lack of covers. José knows very well how to do cool images and I think that this point is neccesary to indirect sell the idea that this eBooks are just that and not fake one.

Althought the main principle is very old is a very nice mix of ideas that allows you to create mindreading without the use of apparent "magic apps".
