Have you seen the UK show Penn & Teller Fool Us? If so, do you feel there is exposure on the program that registers with the public? Overall, do you think the show is good for magic?

Yes, I saw the first one. The pilot aired at the beginning of this year and I like the format. Any magic show is good if it contributes to the audience’s understanding of magic. You will only know that something is good if you also know why something is bad. Penn & Teller’s commentary on the performances do that and, despite the format, they are going out of their way in the edited version of the show not to undermine the performers who are featured. For many it is providing the best show-reel footage and advertising they have ever had.

I don’t think there is any real exposure on the show and the magic world should be grateful to ITV for making magic the centerpiece of their Saturday night programming.
