Tom, I know at one time you were very good at shooting pool and played competitively. A good number of years ago you were doing card tricks at the pool table. I remember you shooting the balls at the deck in such a way that a selected card, or the Aces, would be reveled and you still made the shot. I also remember you doing magic with cue stick chalk among other things you did at the pool table. Pretty amazing stuff really. Do you still do those types of things today; have you thought about sharing with the magic community?

Hi Gary,
Yes—in my younger days I was a very serious pool player. I also loved to play snooker, three cushion billiards, straight pool, and nine-ball. In the mid-seventies my wife Carol and I managed an amusement center that had six pool tables. MrMac used to drop by the establishment and we would perform cards routines for customers on top of the pool tables. We had a blast. At any rate, in those years I worked up a lot of card/pool type of routines using pool chalk, cues, etc. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to publish some of my routines in an upcoming book. |
