Does anybody have the skinny on this new zombie ball at hocus pocus? (It's at their website under 'new-generation zombie')
Dosent come apart, no seam, no hole(!?), no magnets / threads, and it's not a balloon. Examinable before and after.

I used to play around with a clear suction cup on a zombie gimmick. I wonder if that is what it is?

I put my thinking cap on, but so far nothing. All of my guesses were dispelled with the ad copy.
I am very close to buying just so I can sleep at night.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

I notice there's nothing about the actual performance which is a shame. I was hoping mabye this zomb ie could travel about in ways a regular one coudlnt. Ever since the kinetick sphere went off the market it's been same ol' same 'ol in zombieland.

I too am very interested in this product. It's ashamed that I'm guessing all of us have gotten burned in the past, buying magic items that seemed too good to be true, only to find out we did not like it enough to even include it in our act. I have enough junk, stuff I would not even try to sell because I would not want to rip anyone off.
It is because of this one product that I even visited this section of the forum hoping that someone had bought this and had posted a review. I wonder which one of us will break down first and buy this? |

I thought it sounded like Peter Loughran's "Anything Floats" first time I read the description...

This model is a plastic ball much like an ornament so it has a slight mold seam, the gimmick is the only explanation available after the list of "not" is. I wonder why the quite high price? Yet another improvement that is a shot in the dark?

Curious, Walt, a $70 Christmas Ornament? (Laughing) Might look good on that tree...I'm just sayin'...
I've never had a problem with the seam. The ball is always tilted toward the audience, so that seam is never visible even on the most distorted balls (I've owned the Morrissey!). Another thing that I find strange. We now give The Zombie out for examination? I've missed something here. When did we start doing this? Man, I leave for a while, and come back and everything's "aus ein ander"! I like the new ball from Viking and the ball from Ickle Pickle looks good too. I do need a new Zombie. So far, Viking has me with the imported one they carry: http://www.vikingmagic.com/?nd=full&key=1274 I don't think $45 is too much for a quality ball. Quoting Viking: "This is an expertly crafted, very light-weight polished aluminum ball. Comes with special gimmick made to work right, no loose fitting gimmick here. Ball is imported from Europe. Measures 4 1/4" in diameter. Made of light-weight aluminum; includes base and complete instructions. Now supplied with our own break-down gimmick for compact packing. Use your own foulard or see our foulards under Zombie Foulard." This "New Zombie" sounds like an Astrosphere that does not come apart. (?) Doug |

Found a pic from a popular wholesale distributor under the name "new generation zombie." From the looks of it, I can't really see the difference from the old style. Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong, or perhaps they're using a file pic. Don't want to post it here for exposure reasons, so I'll try to do so under the secret sessions portion.
