This is exciting news. I am a great admirer of Doug's work. With an easier way to calculate the suit of the card I'm certain there are going to be even more converts. If you're on the fence over which edition to get I think it's worth mentioning that Mindsights contains Flash Squared a fantastic and very performer-friendly magic square.

This has replaced the BCS (which I memorised several years ago) and the Joyal Stack (which I learned earlier this year) as my stack of choice. Highly recommended.

Will owners of previous editions find the alterations in the revisions section on deceptionary.com?

Just so the issue is clear: QuickerStack is not a "revised" QuickStack, but a new stack. It does share one of the core concepts with its (now ten years old) predecessor, but it does even that in a modified fashion. So it was neither practical nor appropriate to release the (24-page) latter as an on-line "update" to the former.
For anyone who has memorized QuickStack, there is no real reason to change. Anyone who found that memorization too challenging, however, might wish to investigate QuickerStack, which is even more easily learned. With the advent of QuickerStack, there is no reason to continue to sell the older stack, so new purchases of Mindsights (for which the price has been raised slightly) include the more recent stack design. Hope this helps!

I just received this yesterday and learned it in about 10 minutes. It is that easily done. The reading flows so smooth as well as 'quick'. I have had the previous version many years ago and this is that much "Quicker". I have learned several stacks over the last 23 years of performing and studying. This is almost miraculous in it's construct and practicality. It even serves as a teaching and learning device in itself. I started reading with an open mind but was nevertheless preparing for some stiff challenges in grasping and with calculations. None of that here. If you are even possibly considering getting this, I urge you to do so. You will not regret it. I am neither a math major nor 'left brained' thinker at heart.
This will serve you in so many ways. Yes, even with all those other stacks. The applied thinking and execution is nothing short of inspiring. I can envision extended writings around this in application throughout the entire field of card magic and mentalism in the near future. Have you ever wanted to stumble across the tip of an iceberg for mining and resources ? Here it is ! Thanks Doug John |
