So I've been a big supporter of Qualatex my entire career...

However...

I'm really wanting to get 360s in my bag and drop the 350s. I wish Qualatex would make the 360s. Does anyone know how close the color match is from the Qualatex 260 vs the Betallic 360 is? An example...if I were to buy the Qualatex 260 in Lime Green, is the color match spot on if I got a Betallic Key Lime Green 360, etc.?

Just curious...

It depends on the color. Some colors like black, white, yellow are pretty close. I've seen a significant difference in colors like orange, lime, the different pinks, other greens and blues, etc.

You’ll notice the slight difference more so than your customer will. I think the bigger difference will be the feel of the balloon. I only carry Qualatex but have some Betallic sitting at home.

I only use Qualatex balloons, no idea how I started using them I’ve just stuck with them.

I agree that customers won't notice or care. I switched to "B" from "Q" a few months ago and like them a lot better.

When I moved over I just moved my 260 colors as well. I really like the extra length that a 360 gives as opposed to a 350. Also, when going to 660 as opposed to 646 it's even more noticeable. But some colors are close, like mentioned black, white, yellow, and even grey.

Betallatex cost more then Qualatex and I see no point in paying more money for a product that works fine at less money.

I have found betalatex to be cheaper than qualatex. It's usually only by a few pennies, but still it's usually cheaper.

In all honesty I prefer the qualatex colours, but I think this is just a personal thing for me, I don't think it makes any difference to the customers.

Hi Alex, thanks for the information and they might seem cheaper there.. However, it still looks like Qualatex is cheaper at Balloonmerchant than the prices on both of those websites Betalatex prices.

Not complaining just letting you know.

In my experience customers don't care about the small color differences. Also, I've long held that the small price differences between brands or stores should not be a huge issue to a twister who is pricing their skill at an appropriate level,

Yes, a penny saved is a penny earned but at some point, in my mind, loyalty, service, reputation all are part of what I am paying for. The least expensive is sometimes the best but not always.

Well said Carl. I always try to do business with who I know. Being a loyal customer can pay off sometimes.

I agree cheaper isn't always better. However, in this case though the best prices in balloons also reflects great people who have been in the balloon community a very long times. (obviously I am talking about balloonmerchant.com)

I once tried to switch to b's frm q's for black and got a bad batch. this made me go back to q's as customer service of b's was to tell me to go to the store I purcheased them from and q will take care of it themselves.
it was about this time q's came out with pearl onyx black I highly recommend it however everyone seems to be out of this at the time of this posting

I am 100% qualatex. I have no problem with onyx black. I think they may even make it thicker these days. It's the only jewel tone I use, and rarely have a problem. I bought a bag of the black B's due to another twister insisting, and they popped much easier. Maybe I had a bad batch too. But I'm sticking with Qualatex. They aren't perfect; I've had bad batches there too. But, overall, I'm a fan.

For those wanting to try b's and good luck. I was told you have to stretch them before blowing up even with a pump they are kind of still and can pop if not stretched

For the various 360 and 660 colors I will use the Betallic line for all 4 balloon types (160, 260, 360, 660). I do not have to worry about any slight color variances. Even if the color matches now, who knows in a week, month, or year what slight changes will happen.
I have not found a need to pre-stretch Betallic, except for the metallic colors. When I need extra length, then I will pre and post stretch the balloon.

The price is almost the same unless you are counting pennies.
If you want to use the Betallic line make sure the supplier carries all of the sizes and colors. I have found this to be a problem in the past.

Regards,
R

that's correct!

If you are shopping based on price "B" is more than "Q"

Betallic sells the 160s by the 100 count bags. All other sizes are by 50 count bags.

Where do you guys buy Belatex? I found 1 or 2 places, but places selling them don't come up that much on Google searches. The best prices I have seen anywhere on Qualatex, by the way, is from http://btydirect.com/ though they don't sell everything that Qualatex makes and you have to order by phone. I have always been happy with their service and they ship fairly quickly.

I usually order both Qualatex and Betallatex from T. Myers ( http://www4.mailordercentral.com/tmyersm......p?dept=1 ) and La Rocks ( http://www.larocks.com/balloon/balloons.htm ). Both usually have everything I need and have my order to me (NJ) in about 3 days. It's the shipping charges that kill me when I simply need to top off a a couple of bags or try a new specialty balloon.
