Career Summary

Began performing semi-professionally as a mentalist (stage-mind reader and hypnotist) in 1972. Cruise ship entertainer aboard MS Rotterdam and MS Statendam (Holland America Cruises) during the summer seasons 1972 – 1976.

First appearance at Hollywood’s Magic Castle (The Academy of Magical Arts) in 1982.

Other performance venues between 1972 and 1988 included comedy clubs, universities,

fraternal and professional organizations, corporate events and local television programs.

First book on mentalism, Pseudomentally Yours, published in 1977, followed by The Art

of Mentalism in 1981. (A complete list of published materials and DVD’s then follows.)

Co-founded the Psychic Entertainers Association in 1978, was editor of its journal,

Vibrations, through 1982 and served as its president (1982-83). Elected to honorary life membership

in 1988 and was the first mentalist to be awarded its “Award for Creativity

Left his practice of law in 1988 and relocated to Seattle, Washington to become a full time professional mentalist. Wrote The Principia Mentalia beginning in 1993.

He then toured with The Belante Show from 1993 – 2001.

Bob is also the 2011 Recipient of the Psychic Entertainers Association Dunninger Award, presented for distinguished professionalism in the performance of mentalism.
