Hi everyone. I'm working on a chop cup routine, and I want to have a small cup as the final load. I've worked on it for a while, but it's very hard to pull off silently. Any ideas?
Thanks for the help. This is my first post. -Blayk |

Somebody suggested a leather chop cup, but is there any way to do it with a regular aluminum one?
Thanks for the help guys. |

Line it with felt.
Use a leather cup for the load instead of the main chop cup. Find another way to disguise the noise of loading it. Maybe ringing a bell? Play loud music while you do your routine. -Patrick |

At the end of my chop cup routine, I want to load a smaller cup. When it's loaded, it's very loud because the small cup is plastic. My chop cup is metal. Hope that doesn't expose too much.

My girlfriend doesn't understand why we discuss the cups so much here.
She's always uttering "The cups, the cups, then it's the balls, the balls!" under her breath. She also wanted to know who are Tim Friday, Bill Palmer, Pete Biro, Pop Hayden, and Harry Murphy anyway? So I made an animated video as a parody of her, as punishment for not knowing who these men are. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7klZ4aqjx0 She probably won't let me keep it posted for too long though. Enjoy whilst you can. Dev/ |

Study Paul Gertner's routine where he loads steel ball bearings. I've loaded standard golf balls into a metal cup without noise. It's all in the technique. You can either mask the sound with other natural noises (Gertner), or you can learn to load silently. I did the latter. Think of it from a different perspective. Don't try to avoid contacting the cup with your load. Handle it in such a way that the load is always in contact. If you hold the cup (and load) in such a way that they're pressed tightly together and don't rattle against each other, your noise problem is solved.
