The sad news is that the world of magic has lost another great lady. December 22, 2011, Ruth passed away in Arkansas. Her husband Bill Pitts lives in Fort Smith, AR. Uniquely, they are the only married couple that both had IBM Rings named for them, Ring 186 in New York and Ring 75 in Arkansas. Bill is a Past President of IBM. They were the opening act at Abbott's August 2010 and performed, lectured and MC'd Magic Valley Magic September 2010 at Magic Valley Ranch.
More details will be sought.
Ruth, rest in peace. You are missed.

Jean and I join many others in mourning Ruth's passing. She was a wonderful, gracious lady, and we will be praying for Bill and her loved ones.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Roebuck Chapel at First United Methodist Church. Service and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Memorials may be sent to American Legion Auxiliary, 4901 Midland Blvd., Fort Smith, AR 72904.

A memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Christ Episcopal Church, 15 W. High St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
Calling hours will be held at 10 a.m. Monday.

Sad news indeed. I know she was having a few health problems when they worked Abbott's. But being the trouper she was, she made it through the act.
My prayers are with Bill and the family. RIP.

Our hearts go out to Bill and his family. This time of year is especially tough to lose a loved one  We send our prayers for Bill to be comforted by his many friends and for Ruth to have a blessed and peaceful journey to the next world. May her spirit soar.
