IPredict+ Tip #4:
If you're at an event with a friend that has iPredict+ on their phone: Have your friend change the name of his psychic (Christen) to YOUR name (Greg Rostami). After you've performed a few tricks, end with a GRAND finally psychic effect. Leave the room and have your friend ask your audience to pick a card/number. Have someone text "YOU". "Please text Greg for me, but promise me to delete his number right away to respect his privacy." ;-) If you're far away in a big room, turn your back to your audience, show them you have your phone, and pretend to receive and reply to their text message. When you return you'll say "Did you get my text message?" You friend responds with a powerful "YES!" and starts a round of applause for YOU. This performance puts you in the spotlight. Greg Rostami |

I know you mentioned this can be used on the Touch, but can I also use it on the iPad2?
Thanks! RevJohn |

Hi RevJohn,
You can use iPredict+ on an iPad2 . . . the problem is the fake "Contacts" app will NOT look like the iPad2's native "Contacts" app . . . it will look like an iPhone/iPod Touch. Like iForce, iPredict+ was designed to fit in your pocket. sorry, Greg Rostami |

Greg,
I just started working with iPredict+ using a marked deck, and I’m getting great audience reaction—they are amazed. It is a great trick. Being in the computer software business myself, I appreciate your tireless efforts in maintaining the code for multiple operating systems, multiple countries, and multiple releases. Little things go wrong in software products, and it is difficult and not entirely cost effective to provide comprehensive maintenance for multi-platform products that cost less than $10. With this in mind, I think our community of magicians needs to understand that everything cannot be perfect in these apps and that we will have to invent work-arounds when new releases may be a bit late in arriving. In view of the above, I can live with the apparent bug I discovered in your current release of iPredict+ for the iPhone 3G. Nevertheless, I think you will want to know about the problem: When using the “passcode on launch” feature, the option works correctly on its first use, but it fails on the second and later uses. In these later uses, the fake “iPredict+ Stock Prediction App” screen comes up, but it is unresponsive to touching the lower left white box and does not launch the Settings page. It is not affecting the fun and excitement that the trick is providing for my audiences, but I thought you would want to know about it. Finally, I love your new feature that shows the selected card in the address field. This prevents embarrassing mistakes. However, in recovering from such mistakes, what do you recommend as the most graceful procedure? Congratulations on a great product for the magic community. Jim Mullen Tahoe City, California

Jim,
When I enter the wrong card and need to recover, I engage the audience for several more seconds and then as I'm talking to them hit the "Facetime" button which will allow you to reset your entry. Give it a try and you'll know what I mean.

Hi Jim,
I'm glad you're having fun with iPredict+. Steven, thank you very much for chiming in and answering Jim's question. Thank you for bringing that bug to my attention. I'll look into it immediately. This is a bug that only applies to older iOS (like an iPhone 3G). If you had a newer iOS then that feature works fine. all the best brother, Greg Rostami |

Greg,
I tried using my iPredict+ this week, and the phone call generated a "google voice subscriber is not available" message and doesn't appear to be working. Not sure what happened. |

Hi cosmicsecret,
iPredict+'s phone numbers are still in the US. We are looking into an international solution that's cost effective. There are five problems that I'm facing with an international iPredict+ solution: 1. Unfortunately, the app market thinks an app is TOO expensive if it's $0.99 or above. When I tell people my app is $2.99 they reply "WOW . . . why SO EXPENSIVE . . . why isn't it free?" 2. The magic market is VERY small. 3. Acquiring phone numbers from every major country in the World is VERY expensive. 4. Setting up iPredict+'s technology to work with those numbers (both voice and text) is VERY difficult. 5. Recording messages in all of the major languages is also difficult and expensive (just ask Max Krause). iPredict+ sells for $2.99. Apple or Google keep $0.89 leaving us with $2.10. That $2.10 has to be split 3 ways between Randy and I and theory11. For the people that are using iPredict+ in the US, it's a MIRACLE that they can use such an amazing service for a one time cost of $2.99!! Given ALL of the above problems, I still have an international solution that I can't wait to share with you. We are working on this solution as I type this. This solution has several amazing features that will elevate iPredict+ to the Ultimate level. All I can tell you is . . . It's not gonna be $2.99 . . . think MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE!!! stay tuned, Greg Rostami P.S. iForce doesn't have any of these problems . . . |

Recently I performed iPredict in a building that had poor AT&T phone coverage. As we were in a loud bar area, I was using the text message option. We waited for a response from Christen, but nothing came even though the outbound message seemed to have gone. I ad libbed that Christen was probably talking with Tom Cruise or maybe John Revolting. Finally, I handed my iPhone to the spectator and suggested that she step outside to get a better reception. She did so and then returned about two minutes later, screaming that Christen had named her card. The effect was a huge success. And this was especially gratifying to me because I thought the whole thing was going to be a flop.
It's a great trick.

Thank you very much Jim.
If you ever have problems with the text message, remember that you can always fall back on using the phone (voicemail). cheers, Greg Rostami |

IPredict+ Tip #5:
Here's a video performance of this tip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oghSX4EhE6c#t=04m39s As always introduce Christen as your friend or psychic. Have your spectators shuffle the cards. When you retreive the cards peek at the bottom card. Activate that card in iPredict+ and have your spectator dial the telephone number of Christen on their phone . . . but don't hit send. Now simply do a bottom force of the bottom card, and have your spectator immediately hit send/call on their phone. With this performance the spectator thinks they dialed Christen's number BEFORE they selected a card from a SHUFFLED deck of cards. Greg Rostami |
