I just got an email from Ellusionist, and that makes SOOOO much more sense than carrying a $200 spoon around with you.
I'll might actually consider ordering this one if it gets enough great reviews! |

It looks pretty cool. Sounds like it's stronger than the self-bending fork and maybe not the worry of the spectator trying to bend it back and then breaking it.

First; what really peaked my interest on this is that supposedly (emphasis on the word "supposedly") is that you don't have to keep it cold. Secondly; it's a key (hey...who doesn't have key on them) and not some freaking spoon or fork that you have to walk around with...duh! Third; IF it is all that it claims to be the price is comparatively much more reasonable.
No mention if it can be straightened out again for the spectator albeit I don't consider that a big factor. After all...why should you?? Then again, you obviously cannot let them keep it, but then again it's your key and not simply some borrowed object. No mention about reset and or practicality. Bottom line, I'm going to wait for a LOT of reviews on this first. Gotta admit, the use of a key sounds great as opposed to a fork (which must be your own), or a nail (yeah...I always walk around with a freaking nail on me). I remember a coin (quarter) that came out not too long ago that I believe is based on the same scientific metallurgical principal that was VERY expensive and fell flat on it's face because it looked like crap. Like I said, I'll just patiently wait and see as I've never been one of those who had to be the first kid on the block to have anything. As the old saying goes: "Only fools rush in". That is unless of course you happen to be rich.

Even if it didn't have a "cut", which all demo's have, I'd still be skeptical until further reviews and would NEVER purchase anything on the spot. The only time I may possibly do that is when I see any given trick performed in person such as at a brick and mortar magic store or at a lecture/show.

I had the old Psy Key by Yves Domergue, which went for about 3-4 times the cost of the Shift key. It worked fine, but I wound up selling it, mostly because it didn't look "quite right" to me.
I've handled E's Shift fork, which by all accounts is an improvement in looks, functionality, and price over previous forks that work with the same principle. I imagine the same holds true for the key version. Definitely interested in getting my hands on one of these. For what it is, and compared with what else is out there, I think the price is very reasonable. Kevin

If the reviews are live up to the claims in the video, this will definately be in the top ten tricks released in 2012 IMO.

Ordered it. It may take a few weeks for the package to be delivered here but will post my opinion when it arrives.

Man, this is one of those tricks where you really really REALLY hope it is as good as it looks.

Awesome demo. Never bought one of these metallurgical doo-hickeys before, and will definitely wait for reviews, but this looks like it ticks all of the boxes. Common object you'd have on you anyway, doesn't need ice, realistic look and heft, reasonable price, etc. Could be a great "convincer" follow-up to another bending routine.

If the reviews are solid then this is going to be BIG!
Oh... how I hope it lives up to the demo!!! Please let it live up to the demo!

This looks great, it really does. The only question I have is that after the key is bent and is set down on a table or something, does it just slowly return back to straight again? In other words, how long does it stay bent for the spectator? Do you have to present it such that it returns to straight or can you make it stay bent?
Pick a card, any card at all. Just don't pick a RED spade.

The key will stay bent until you do a 'special something' to it. Once it's bent, it can't be straightened without a brief moment of private time.

What about people with really cold hands? I know this might sound silly, but my wife's hands are always freezing. I suspect that would interfere with the bend.
