I saw this at Magic-Con last year, Yigal was kind enough to show a few of us some effects, and the pen itself.
Overall, it is a vast improvement over the original spider pen. I had the original, and wound up selling it because it wasn't my cup of tea. The new pen has a metal body. It also runs on a standard AAA battery, not the little disc batteries. There were also some other good updates. But seeing as I saw it a little over a year ago, I'm sure additional changes/improvements could have been made beyond what I saw. I wasn't wild about the original pen, but the Pro model is very very nice. Kevin

Well just the fact that it uses a regular aaa battery is a great improvement. Hopefully the motor is more durable thanthe original. I held off on the original becauseof all the negative remarks it got, but I will most likely pick this up since a full metal design should be far more durable, plus the battery will be much cheaper to replace now.

This does look fantastic but I'm still not going to buy it as a pre-order.

My original spider pen didn't work properly too, kind of a let down for me. I hope this one is better.

Same here but the wait is going to kill me! Question for those who own a spider pen. Where do you keep it when in use, a shirt pocket? I think he has it clipped to his shirt in the demo.

Ooohh just re-watched the video and saw it clipped to his shirt. Not very ideal to perform this in a shirt or t-shirt without a collar or button up then?

"No pocket no pen"? Definatly NOT, I wear mine in the collar of a t shirt or by the top button on an open necked collar shirt like Yigal does in the video, Never has anyone worked it out,
- because if you were carrying a pen when you are dressed in a t shirt that is a natural place you would put it. I have owned about 10 or 11 of the old Spider Pens over the years (poor quality that fell apart!), and performed with it hundreds of times, and have loved it despite the poor quality. I must say that the new one looks like it will be more complicated to work with though. Not happy that the UK dealer I called says you have to pre pay all the money two months before you (might) get it! So I too may wait untill they are more availible and have seen a few reviews. Don't care for pre-orders, but I like ordering from Steve Fearson ( good experiences with him ) so I'm in.
