I still do not believe that something of a non-standard colour instantly makes it suspicious to others...i think that's being a bit too worried about things that one shouldnt be worried about. Like those dangerous black cards.....oooooh, the end of magic. Long story short: I don't believe that the colour of a piece of card is of any relevance, neither is the desperation to hand out the envelope. Theres no need to hand it out. And if one was inclined to (or forced to) then the package allows for it. Me |

No need to defend yourself, it wasn't a personal attack.
I just like things to look normal to an audience. If I'm using an envelope I like it to be one people have seen before. I personally don't care for something as mundane as an envelope to look cool. Because its just an envelope. The card or paper that contains important info, like a prediction or something, could look interesting because you want your audience to be interested in it. This works for anything. If it looks unusual to a spectator they are more likely to want to see it. Not necessarily because they think it's dodgy in some way, but because it is unusual and people like to look at unusual things... If they didn't they wouldn't pay to see our shows in the first place. As I said, just my opinion. Many will disagree and that's fine. If everyone agreed with everyone else all the time life would be boring

After using, some of my thoughts -
- hard to draw anything with curves, e.g. 8, n, @, etc. - can't hand out envelope at least for the first few times you use it. - envelope has a limited lifespan. |

Hi Everyone,
Fist of all I want to thank those for your kind words. Second, BlackMail is certainly not my invention and I take zero credit for it. Without getting into too much detail, I simply took an old idea and found the best parts to make it work better. I did this initially for myself as I am a worker, and was able to iron out the kinks over a period of about 4 years. Not only do I stand by it, I use it all the time. With regards to using a gimmicked prop, if you think will bring about suspicion, it will in fact do just that. So stop thinking that way and remember, it's not a prop until you treat it like one. As John Riggs would say, "If you can't hide it, paint it red". In this case, black is not so bad. heehee!! If you own this product and haven't been able to use it to its maximum potential, get in touch with me and I will gladly help out. I prefer it over others under the same umbrella for many reasons. Ask and I shall tell. Ustaad and J.Prager, I understand your concern but I can honestly say that it has never been a problem for me. Not once. I believe it lies in audience management and frequent performances. I have however come up with a solution which completely solves that issue as this has been a concern for some people. Once again, if you would like to pm me or even better, email me info@bobbymotta.com I will gladly share. Thanks again guys!! b:m |

Phil, John, Nancy, Steve...who knows? I heard it from John but you're probably right as Phil has introduced and/or "re-introduced" many expressions.... And yes...my pleasure!

So I used this a a 8 times and guess what? No one cared one iota about the envelope or the color for that matter! Although an old method the DVD has some great subtlety's . Well worth the money in my opinion.

I chuckle whenever people say that something will look unnatural. First of all like Mr. Motta said, it's the way you handle it. Secondly, you HAVE to try it out to see. A black envelope isn't common, but there is nothing wrong with it and it exists. I would much prefer a black envelope then say a big black box with chinese ornaments just to place a paper inside.
Yours,

Hi all, sorry cause my english it´s very bad. I purchased the informant and received the black mail as present. I am somewhat disappointed because I wrote 3 emails to Mr. Mottta and received no answer for it. I would be happy if one of you magician pros could help me. I am not sute what to do once I have use the paper in the black envelope. Is it possible always to use the same paper a second time? I meand can I cancel the first prediction or do I need to buy a new one and for every prediction I use a new paper? I hope I could explain clear what my doubt is and I am thankfull for every help you can offer me.

I don't use the hard card that came with it. I just use my business card. I love this. In my wallet, and you can use the envelope so many times.
As far as unnatural, I really like the look of the black envelope. I've never had anyone say anything. I give them my card with the number on it and the envelope goes back in my wallet. James

How much pressure are you guys applying? I can't get mine to look "clear" so I've been trying to justify why it looks the way it does...

I press pretty hard, lol. I also think maybe the gimmick being in my wallet, warms it up. I get a really nice dark number. BTW, I don't write on the hard card supplied.
I put my business card on top of that. James

Could the envelope be inside a wallet that has a place for PW and then remove the envelope from the wallet and show the prediction?

It didn't worked for me and there is a couple of reasons why:
1) it's really hard to make drawing clear and look like handwriting. After week of practice text on the card still looks like you've written it by your left foot 2) you can't keep it ready all the time because paper becomes dirty. That means you'll need a little preparation right before the effect 3) it doesn't last long. Only about 10-15 performances 4) how strong wouldn't be your audience management, black envelope is still too unusual For me s##mi wins this game |
