There is a character on tonight's June 26, 2012 episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" called "Alex Elmslie." So far he has not taken out a deck of cards.

Probably not a complete coincidence. They had an earlier episode with someone tossing three card monte and Linda Hunt scaling cards like Ricky Jay.

I saw Marlo's Snap Change on that show and yes not only do they mention Elmsley
but also a guy named Vernon. One of the writers must be into magic.

The was a character on the NBC show called the Cape that was named Max Malini. I'm sure that was not an accident.

The NCIS/magic connection reappeared on a USA Network re-run of the episode "Collateral Damage."
Actor Eric Martsolf plays a character named... Paul Harris. Someone in the NCIS production team must have magic ties. I notice that Donald Bellisario is the producer of the series. Bellisario also produced "Quantum Leap" and there was at least one episode of that series where Sam Beckett plays "The Great Spontini." ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

More on the NCIS/MAGIC connection… The episode “Absolution” has a character named… "Harbin."
Bill Malone was a guest actor on the "NCIS/Los Angeles" episode "Black Budget." Steve Valentine was on the episode "Recovery" of the original NCIS series starring Mark Harmon, David McCallum et al. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

One of the writers is a magic fan. That's how Bill Malone was hired.
