I know the method of the "Mindreader Wallet" as I owned the "Thought Transmiiter".Thinking of purchasing the former as it's made better and it's made of leather. I came accross the "Stealth Wallet" and don't know which I should purchase as I do not know the method of the "Stealth Wallet". Could somebody please tell me which one has the better method?
Thanking you,
Gerry

Which "mindreader" wallet are you alluding to? I've seen several advertised lately under that name and none I've seen use the "Thought Transmitter" method...In fact, some are just a Himber...(not that a Himber deserves a "just" but you know what I mean....)
The Stealth is nice but for a peek wallet that has a TON of other uses I reccomend Mark Striving's "Sight Unseen Case-Generation II." Very well made and offers a lot of other applications other than a peek wallet.

If you like the Thought Transmitter method perhaps you should go for the mindreader wallet, but if you want another method (less deceptive to my mind) you could go for the stealth wallet wich look like a real wallet.

Ps: I don't have a minreader wallet but I'd love to know if it looks good

Hmmm...this Mindreader wallet is catching my eyeball...I think I'll look into it should my TT break down on me...hopefully not during a performance Smile

Take care,

Logan

P.S. By the way, how do they differ in price? Are they the same in terms of handling?

I have both.
The mindreader Wallet is a slightly thinner version of Thought Transmitter in leather.
I have a few problems with it though.
It came with two units. Neither worked. however, to be fair, two replacements were sent out immediately. However, only one of them worked.
The leather wallet looks fine on one side, but the other has a big hole in it - so it doesn't look like any leather wallet I have seen.
I'm bugged that the instructions make no mention of John Cornelius.
Stealth is completely different. Looks more like a wallet. I suppose the handling can be classed as slightly more complex than Mindreader wallet - but is still within most people's grasp.

Hey all...
I had the opportunity to inspect the Mind Reader wallet at my local shop last week and I must say that the quality was NOWHERE NEAR that of the Thought Transmitter. I don't know how the price differs, but I do know I would have been dissapointed with this had I bought it sight unseen, at any price.
At the very least, try to see one before deciding to purchase.
The Stealth wallet, by the way, is a very well made item that looks completely unsuspicious and can afford you the peek without detection if routined properly.
Just my .02...

I am sitting looking at the mind reader wallet as I type. The quality looks great to me, it is made of leather which takes it out of the plastic gimmicky look. If I am going to use a wallet, it has to look like one and the leather wallet does. As far as the working of the gimmicks, both work fine once you locate the spot to activate them. (those that have this will know what I am referring to). Now all of that aside, here is where I compare the prop. Knowing what this prop must do, that being, giving you a good clear view of what is written, this wallet tops the list for this. What I do is place the open wallet in front of the spectator and have them draw an object, then close the wallet. I reach over and pick up the wallet to turn it over and remove my business card and in the process of turning it over, activate the gimmick getting a quick clear view. Once I take the business card out of the outside back pocket, the wallet is placed to the side. I now divide the business card off into 6 sections and tell them that I will ask three questions, and they can tell the truth or tell a lie, it is up to them. I ask questions such as, is it an object? is it a word? is it a name? as I ask each, I put checks into the various boxes, which actually mean absolutely nothing, but they think it does. Then I study the check marks and in one of the boxes make a crude duplication close to their object.
Never once have they asked to see the wallet, in fact they are so busy trying to recreate the check marks seeing if they can figure out what they mean, that I myself take out their drawing and hand it to them. In a walk around bit recently this was done for some very well to do people, and later in the evening two women approached each had drawn the same object that night, and get this, my check marks were in the same spots on both of the business cards they had. They had gone around comparing cards with other people and had come to the conclusion that I was really psychic. One had asked how she should invest a large sum of money and even offered me a percentage to tell her where it would get the best return. I very nicely told her that she should consult an investment specialst since that is one area that I cannot foretell, if I was able to, I would not be walking around as an entertainer. She laughed, I finished the gig and three days later was just booked for her Christmas party, based on the mind reader wallet. So if this tells you I am a fan of the prop, Yep! big time. The quality is there, and Magic Makers backs their products. As a working professional I look at magic this way; If the prop is well made, performs the job, and makes me look good, then it is worth any price to me. That is my opinion for what it is worth.
All the Best

Just another instance of Rob Stiff and company adopting the ideas of others, marginally improving them (if at all), then selling them without the permission of the original inventor.

Good one Gianni!

Hey Marty! Very nice post you have my friend! I do have one query though, if you don't mind - does the Mind Reader wallet have any of the drawbacks of the Thought Transmitter? In other words, are there any limitations to it? Can you perform it in low lit conditions?

Thanx Marty!

Take care,

Logan

Thank you Martini. I'll be purchasing the "Mindreader wallet". Thank's to your great revue.
I love "cornelieus's effects, but after owning the "Thought Transmiter" improving it by covering it with leather so the edges won't be a problem in certain lighting conditions it worked fine, but threw it away after it stopped working. I realize I could've purchased a replacement gimmick, which I thought at the time was to high in price. All in all I was very disappointed in it, and feel he should have produced a leather wallet with replacement gimmicks at a better price. I would not recommend his wallet to anyone!
Thank you again Marty.
Cheers,
Gerry
Thought's have wings. Smile Forgot to mention that the "Thought transmiter wallet" has another flaw!
the gimmick causes an outline that can be seen on the wallet! It's pure garbage! It's a shame, as I have his fantastic "Instant Pro" which is a fantastic no sleight card to wallet!that I use occasionally besides the other wallets that I have which uses a top palm. J. C. has some great products besides this one failure.

Actually, it's not a bad name for the latter profession, either.

But I didn't make the name up, scout's honor.

Can someone elaborate a little more on the Stealth Wallet? I have the TT, and have a thorough understanding now on the difference between the TT and Mindreader.

How does the Stealth differ and what would you chose between the mindreader and the stealth?

Hi Dave,
The Stealth Wallet uses a different method. I personally prefer the Mindreader Wallet because it can be handled by the spectator. The Stealth Wallet can not
be handled by the spectator.
Hope this helps,
Gerry

Why would the spectator need to handle your wallet? If it is a "real" wallet you would just put in the card face down close the wallet as you put it away naturally.
There would be no suspicion if you had a wallet that in every way looked like a real wallet in fact you could use it as such.

I am looking into such a wallet at the moment that allows for the most natural peek and anyone could do its so easy. Its based on a modified style of wallet you can find in any leather shop.

Hi shrink,
Granted what you say is true, but I just think it makes for a stronger effect if the spectator closes the wallet, puts a rubber band around it, hands the wallet back to you, and you put it in a plastic see thru zip lock bag, just makes the effect more of a miracle!

One more ripp off from Magic Makers (teh owner is Rob Stiff) The trick is selling in Penguin Magic.
You can be his next victim .... Why buy from the partners of a crook? Would you give confidential data (such like your credit card number) to a thief or to the partner of a thief? Today the creators of magic see these guys literally stealing money from our pockets. It's only a matter of time until they decide to commit these kind of actions against you.....be carefull with this guy!....be carefull with this guy!

Hi,
The stealth wallet works the same as Peter Nardi's mind spy but without the paper and it is a lot smaller!
it can't realy be used as a wallet but is great for carrying business cards!
I reccomend it and I use mine all the time!
