You do not need a memorized deck to use this principal. In fact this system will not work with a memorized stack. I'll be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I already knew a system VERY VERY similar to this but abandoned it because a memorized deck is much much stronger. The draw back is you need to see the faces of the cards to make revelations. You can't do men deck classics like weighing the cards, with this method. It's NOT BAD by any means and it can be strong. It's easy to learn and you can do some very baffling revelations, but for me the memorized deck is still stronger. I bought this DVD hoping that it would help me with some trouble cards in the Aronson stack and to help me remember it quickly if I haven't used it in a while. So, I have mixed views on this. It's great if you don't know s memorized deck and don't know this principle, but it's not very good if you already know a mem deck.

I use a memorized deck and what I like about this is it is an additional tool I have in my aresenal. The other thing is the spectator can shuffle every card in the deck. I am happy with my purchase.

It's not truly a replacement for the memorized deck though. I think they should have marketed it a bit differently. The fact that you need to see the cards to do most revelations is weak in my opinion and it's why I abandoned the other similar principal. You also can't go straight into it from a memorized deck or any other deck for that matter. There is a bit of stacking involved.

Its not a replacement for a memorized deck for sure. However, for those who don't want to memorize one this is a legitimate option. Also, like I said earlier, even if you memorize a deck you can use this as a supplement in certain situations.

A trick from the video has two spectators choose cards from two halves at a shuffled deck. The cards are ribbon spread face down on the table and the selections are replaced in the spread. Cards are squared, turned over, and ribbon spread face up. The performer can immediately tell which two cards were selected.

To my thinking, this technique has nothing to do with a memorized deck, so I think the title is simply misleading. It's a method (very old, dating back half a century or more) for discovering a card that has been moved from one place in the deck to another.
Not that the technique is bad (though better ones have been published, my personal favourite being Michael Weber's version), but that it is unrelated to memorized stacks. Jheff Poncher has published a review of this that is more helpful than most.

The spectator can shuffle parts of the deck any way he or she chooses. You cannot simply hand them the entire deck and allow them to shuffle.

Hello friends,
Thank you for your opinions. It's a simple and not well known tool to perform card magic effects with a borrow deck of cards. You can also perform some of the effect as a memorized deck as I explain in the DVD. The principle is not my invention, as I explain at the DVD but the routines was created for me using the principle. I think it's not replace a stack deck as si stebens or mnemonica deck, but you will find cards in the deck so simple and you can perform a great version as a triumph or to make a multi reveal of 6 of 7 selected cards. I saw that some people knew the principle and it's normal, but beleive me that 99 per cent of the people that saw this material in my lectures don't how I performed that. It worth, it worth your money. |
