I've been looking for other beads also. Not necessarily because I don’t like the supplied beads, but I'd just like a few different looks. The beads can be switched out at will which makes this even more versatile IMO! Also, the beads on mine don’t stay put so I want to get a slightly thicker cord for this.
The effect is nice and simple yet it baffles people! Just how I like it! Thanks! Jim |

J-Mac--
The best beads are "European-style" with a 5mm diameter hole, and at least 15mm in length. Regarding the beads not staying put, you probably have the "Brass" style... the smooth bore and heavier weight of the long center bead allows it to slide pretty easily. You can even see it move in my "raw" performance video. Personally, it doesn't bother me that it moves on its own... that's what beads do... you simply have to hold it in position before the penetration. If there's anything else I can do to help, let me know. --Dan Harlan |

Thanks Dan. On mine even the smaller side beads won't stay up on the cord, so I need to get something lighter and/or with a thicker cord or smaller diameter hole.
Thanks again! Jim |

I have ordered "Ritual" and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the apparatus, and I have watched Dan's really EXCELLENT video explanation I was sent ahead of time. I like the look of the beads in the video. Should I want to make anything of my own in future using similar ones, where at Lowe's could I find them? Thanks. |

Hushai--
Insert nuts & hose barb! (There's something you don't hear every day) Also, your idea of "borrowing" the necklace is great. I used to do that with an earlier version of this, but haven't considered it since I upgraded the style. Still, it's a very viable option. Roland-- You can get it from me. http://www.danharlanmagic.com/Ritual-Ritual2012.htm Because I'm using the best materials I can find (read: expensive), there isn't enough margin for me to offer this item through distributors... the price would have to nearly double for everyone to make what they deserve... so, I've opted to do this one in-house. --Dan Harlan |

I've got the steel beads and I love the trick. The necklace looks great. When I'm at work, I wear it under my shirt. People have commented on the cool beads. They ask me where I got it and I tell them on Father's day from my daughter. They say nice gift.
I love this trick because it is always ready to go, sitting innocently on my chest. It takes up no pocket space whatsover. Easy to do... was doing this pretty much out of the box. The price is great. C'mon. $20.00. How many times have you shelled out twice that amount for a trick that sits in your drawer collecting dust? |

Come on, jcrabtree- tricks don't sit in a "drawer"- they sit in a "draw"! I can't tell you how many times I've seen it written that way here!
I am thinking about this one. I'm just not sure if 6 new tricks in 3 days is a good thing. Five in 2 days is already a record for me. |

I KNOW that, Gene- I was being SARCASTIC! Do you have any idea how many times I've seen people on here say that a trick has sat in a "draw"? It drives me CRAZY!
Then again, I'm very easy to drive crazy! |

Dan, I ordered mine from eMagic Supply -- are you not distributing
through them? Thanks for the directions at Lowe's. |

Steve Fearson (eMagic Supply) is a good friend of mine with a very loyal customer base. He asked if he could stock a few "Ritual" and a few "Stash" since he liked both effects. Of course, I said, "Yes." Besides the few he has, there is no distribution in place for either of my latest effects.
On another note, OMG! The great A.G. has purchased from me! Sweet! Good to see you on here and even better to feel the love, man! I still fondly remember our sessions together on Deception... "More white boards!" Hope to catch up with you again someday. --Dan Harlan |

OK Dan- you got me. First "Stash". Now I have ordered this. My wife approved the necklace, so I'm good to go.
Magic purchase #6 this weekend. I'll have to stop dining at the Café for a while! |

What a great surprise to come home to after 30 days in hell!
Dan has taken a classic piece of magic and made it his own in every since of the word. In fact, I think that grandmas necklace should have to step down for good and give ritual its due time. I love EVERYTHING about this effect and necklace. I'm rocking the bonus version method, it is soooo ridiculously easy and magical, and has gotten me to actually see jaws drop. Thank you dan for being the person you are, brother in magic and friend in life. Dude, remember our "screwing around" video we did at your house? Somewhere a french man is laughing his ass off. GET THIS NOW!!! JM |

I agree about the bonus version, I think it's much better than the other version.
People's jaws just drop as they are holding both ends of the necklace and the pieces come off and they're STILL holding both ends of the necklace. |

Hey guys, thanks for trying out (and enjoying) the bonus version of Ritual. I kind of downplayed it a bit in the promo since I wasn't sure if most magicians would appreciate me taking such liberties with a classic. I actually struggled with only releasing one version or the other, but ultimately they both have their merits... although, as you've realized, the bonus (pendant-style) version does simplfy the whole process without losing any effect.
