How refreshing to see genuine quality win out over hype and game playing.
I'm pleased to have played a part (albeit a small one) in bringing a British sense of fair play to the competition. Appropriate then that a British trick should win. Congratulations to Nick and Alan, they thoroughly deserve to be able to attach the title of 'MagicCafe's trick of the year 2012' to their product. And commiserations to those that didn't win, despite their best efforts to do so. Nyuk nyuk Finally, thanks to Jamie for running a very fair contest. J Ps. I voted for the winning product.

Congrats to Nick and Allen. I don't own this effect but it looks awesome. I have to get it.
Thanks to everyone who voted for X-act. I am so thrilled to finish in 2nd place. Thanks to Mark for releasing X-act and to Jamie G for being a class guy. Tears of joy are falling now! Mike Kirby |

I have no douubt that the top 3 winners are all top drawer releases. I don't own any of the top 3, so these polls are always helpful for all Café members like me who are looking for winners.
Thanks again Jamie - the man of steel

Maybe next year, Steve could send out a message about threads like this one so that we could have greater participation, as opposed to having to stumble across the "best of" threads.
Maybe even make it official. |

Congratulations to the winners.
All three effects are outstanding well deserving of an award. I have recently begun using Ignition in my strolling sets to great reactions. Always been a fan of Nicholas Einhorn and I saw Mark Mason demo X-ACT in New Zealand. Thanks Jamie D Grant for hosting this contest and making such great looking awards. I think barts185 is correct in writing it would be great it somehow everyone on the Café were to know next year. However that might not be the problem seeing how nearly 28,000 views were recorded of this thread and yet there were only around 200 votes. Steve is really good at keeping us up to date via the PM section, maybe this could be used next time? It may or may not help get the word out in a way that might be more acceptable to those that use words like Nyuk nyuk? All the best, -shawn |

I only made up the word Nyuk nyuk yesterday. Great to see that it's caught on already!
I have just ordered ignition given that it's won a prize here and that Shawn uses it in his strolling sets. These competitions are a great way to raise awareness of outstanding products. Thanks again Jamie for all your hard work in managing what can be at times a difficult job. Also for intruding the half vote rule that made the competition much fairer in many people's eyes. Looking forward to next year's competition.

Jamie Ferguson, you should more diligent in your research before making such claims as "I only made up the word Nyuk nyuk yesterday"...
The word was used by Jerome Lester "Jerry" Horwitz (October 22, 1903 – January 18, 1952), better known by his stage name Curly Howard of the three stooges on stage and in motion picture long before you were perhaps even born. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKtwlHV1-O8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbjiKIKzY3c http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=nyuk Oh, you will love Ignition. I was recently in Las Vegas and had the opportunity to see Chris Smith lecture at the local IBM meeting and it was a brilliant evening of creativity and fellowship. I also purchased Lightning and Big Bang and am awaiting the new version of Departure which is an improvement on an already amazing effect. -shawn |

Hi Guys
Thanks to all of you who voted for the Deluxe Nest of Wallets - Bizarrely I had no idea I was even in this race and until today did not even know I had won! Totally delighted and thanks Jamie for what looks like a wonderful work of art. On behalf of Alan and myself, many thanks and hopefully for those who don't own it yet you'll see me perform it at Blackpool in a few weeks. Well done to all the other inventors and entrants - Nick Einhorn |

Um, I'm just happy to almost be in the top ten... (yay 12th!)
I guess I could have hyperserved my psychographic to optimize my metaweb, but hey, I ain't complaining. It's better that I didn't get a deck of cards in a bottle (beautiful, by the way), 'cause I'd just smash it open to see if it was stacked in Stebbins! I'm talking to you, Mr. Nick Einhorn! You're curious... aren't you?! Anyway, thanks to everybody who voted for anybody! --Harlan |

Hi Dan - I think they call that SDD - Schrodinger's Deck Syndrome! - Shall I? Shan't I? Maybe I should hang a sign around the neck of the bottle which say's Break in Case of Emergency! If I run out of Bikes I may have no choice
