Check out the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IvFfIpZ2yA I may have to see this for all the inside jokes. Are any "real" magicians consulting on this movie?

David Copperfield has a cameo if that counts...

LOL. First thing I thought, I wondered if this was on the Café yet.
David is getting every media gig he can now. Hope he makes it all right. |

Cast looks good. From a movie perspective at least.
Steve Carrell's character on The Office (Michael Scott) loves magic. Throw in Ace Ventura, Tony Soprano, Nucky Thompson and David Copperfield and I think we've got ourselves a movie! |

Have to say I laughed out loud a couple of times at this trailer. No way I'll get the long-suffering wife to go see this so it will be mean for the DVD.
And on that point I do wonder who they think the audience is for this film ? Can't figure out the demographic at all. |

My guess is that this is a hilarious movie that will open big with comedy fans of Carell, Carey, etc.

My roommate was an extra in it. She's a SAG actress.

My friend and AARP colleague Bill Newcott has a weekly YouTube feature where he talks about (not exactly reviews) upcoming movies. He mention's Burt Wonderstone in his short clip and asks an intriguing question at the end about your favorite magician.

Truly awful film. It would have been much better had there been jokes or humorus sections.

I heard that they had planned on releasing this film in 3D. But all the characters were so one dimensional they failed to show up in that medium.

You hit the nail right on the head! Wait until it comes out in RED BOX & even then you will still pay too much to see it!

It's offically a flop
From http://artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/0......fice/?hp Steve Carell’s “Burt Wonderstone” (Warner Brothers) was a disappointing third, taking in an estimated $10.3 million. This film, which received dismal reviews and a C-plus score from audiences in exit polls, cost $32 million to make.

I had really high hopes for this movie as it combined two things I love (comedy & magic). There were a few things that were really funny in the movie but it wasn't anything special. I didn't hate it but I think I probably enjoyed the popcorn more than the movie.
Just adding my 3 cents worth because anybody can add their 2 cents worth...

My wife and I watched the movie this weekend. We both enjoyed it and had a good time with several good laughs. The audience was small but also seemed to be entertained.

I watched it yesterday with my son, I like all the actors in the movie, however the movie was so-so, I think the script/story is too weak
