Does anyone know any of the ideas presented in this book. I have heard about his soul of butterfly presentation and I am very curious about what ideas he has.

I had the book at one time, but never had it translated into English. I may be able to do this for the Tenyo book. I can tell you that the booklet (softcover, probably 25 pages or so) came with a small clear plastic envelope with some additional small items, though I cannot recall what these were!

If anyone has the original the scans can be run through a site called onlinedoctranslator.com which will translate via google but unlike standard google translation it will maintain all of the formatting. I have heard about a routine call soul of butterfly that is supposed to be amazing. I know the book came with 3 small linking finger rings. I beleive that one is gimmicked and two are connected like chinese linking rings. They would presumably be submerged in the 'blue crystal' and come out linked. I would love to see the handling for this, the japanese style of magic is the only way to present tenyo tricks without making them into something else. It also looks like the book came with safety pins possibly to connect as well, though the rubber string makes no sense to me. The effect still entertains me because it is so convincing. I agree that it is hard to implement in a routine, I prefer to do tenyo in complete silence, with very open hand movement. Tenyo blogspot has some great videos, I especially like the one for illusion truck, while the gimmick is easy enough to understand the mans handling is so elegant and playful, to me the perfect presentation of tenyo.

Yes Illusion truck videos proves once again that talent comes from the magician and not only from the props.

All online translators are pretty bad. I use them for Japanese fairly often and they produce pretty incomprehensible stuff.
My first goal is to find a copy of the book! Since I will be visiting Dr. Sawa's home this year, my luck is pretty good. |

Anyone know if this book will ever be translated into English? Perhaps it could be squeezed into the upcoming Lubor Fiedler book?
Also - does anyone know where I can find a Japanese copy of the booklet? I think using some online translators and some common sense I should be able to have a crack at deciphering the contents. Cheers! Joe Mckay |

I don't believe Tenyo even makes the regular version of Blue Crystal anymore, and I can't think of any reason that this book would ever be translated into English. Running it through an online translator will be useless (trust me).
Just to tidy up this thread, the book contains about 9 tricks by Dr. Hiroshi Sawa which uses Lubor Fiedler's "Blue Crystal" prop. It comes with a set of small props, some of which could be easily found (common items) but others which were specially made. The book is extremely rare, and finding one with the props intact is even more difficult. Since all the tricks were created by Dr. Sawa, there is no reason to include it in Lubor's book. |

Why did Tenyo release an updated version of Blue Crystal? I need to track one down.
And thanks as always Richard! You are such a legend. |

Tenyo released Disney versions of four tricks: Invisible Zone, Blue Crystal, Trap Box, and Miracle Coin Thru (which comes with a Mickey coin). The items are part of their "Disney Super Magic" line. You can buy them all from Hitomi (magico-japan) on eBay at good prices.

What is different about it other than Disney theme? I've yet to get to Blue Crystal in the book. Perhaps it says it there?

Licensed items are not discussed in the book (with only a few exceptions, such as Mirror Mate).
The lenticular material in the Disney version of Blue Crystal has little Mickey heads instead of whatever the usual symbol is, and the item which descends into the Blue Crystal is one of two Disney-shaped rubber bands. More than that I don't know because I haven't opened mine. Invisible Zone has a big Mickey printed on the front panel. |

In the book it seems the updated version allows you to remove part of the Blue Crystal. Compared to the original version.

I have seen them for sale at Tokyo Disney if I recall correctly. I'll be back there in March and will need to take a closer look. Thanks.

Only the original run of Blue Crystal had the lid glued in place.
You can get the Tenyo Disney line at many places in Japan: they are not specific to the Tokyo Disney Resort as many items are. Any of the ten Tenyo Magic Corners will have them (and there are at least four in Tokyo that I know of--you should go to the one where Billy demonstrates). |

I asked you for some recommendations on a prior trip. I'll likely do so again this time as well.
Thanks. |
