I am have learned a few good three card monte routines. I was looking for a chant to say kinda to hype up the show, like the one Doc Eason uses on his video. I know I've heard others also, but I don't know any others. Does anyone out there have one that they would like to share or know a place that I could find some.

This here ain't no three card Monte, this here's the mexican Pitti-pat, where you win on the red and you lose on the black. Here's a black, and here's a black, and here's a red, just like that.If you gotta a lotta nerve and you gotta lotta plenty, five'll get you ten, and ten'll get you twenty. Watch me now, I'm gonna race'em and chase'em so watch where I place'em. Where's the red?
I've played this game with Yankees and Southerners, senators and governors. Money on the card or no bet, where's the red? If I can bluff you I can beat you. Come on bet five, bet ten! Ho down now, get your chicken dinner in the center, where's the red? Obviously you can mix this up, repeat it, whatever works for you. These are right off the street, real lines. Use them as you see fit. Best, PSC

So, Paul...it was you in the clubcar past midnight on that train to Chigago. You gave me two bets out of three, then you crimped that card and reeled me in for my wallet.
Well, thanks for the lesson. |

Ralph, check out Daryl's Three Card monte dvd. He shows so many ways it can be done. Spectators would just be eager to bet you.

The absolute best psychological three card monte routine I have ever seen is by Phil Cass... he gets a guy to want to bet the farm even though he tells the guy he has cheated him, but the guy is SO CONVINCED it is unreal. I wish I had the chutzpah to do it the way he does.

In 'Further Inner Secrets of Card Magic' it says Dai Vernon uses the following jingle to set the mood and atmosphere for the three card monte:
'A little game from Hanky Poo, the black for me the red for you-all you have to do is to keep your eyes on the little lady-ten gets you twenty, twenty gets you forty...now here we go....keep your eyes on the lady.' I think this is a nice bit of patter before starting the game. |
