I have, and use NFW, have bought ACE in the full knowledge that the mechanics and final effect are similar and I would recommend ACE to anyone at any level. The 'in the specs' hands aspect raises the effect value and involves people in a way that a normal handling of NFW doesn't. It's definitely going in my close up act : small, simple plot, knockout punch and quick to reset on the fly. Brilliant stuff.

And here I thought "Double Back" was the cream of the crop in terms of transpositions. If Im not mistaken Double back is Dr. Daleys Last Trick on steroids and "ACE" is NFW on steroids. I have so many card effects .. why does something better have to come out all the time. I've told myself to put my cards down and work on other non-card routines but Mr. Sanders, you my friend are making it impossible to do so. This would go great with my "Jesters" (Colombini), Prior Commitment (Aronson) and "FUll Lotus" (Sankeys "Front Row Sankey"). Okay okay .. the wallets slowly being pried open.

I am generally not a fan of card effects, but I LOVE "ACE" and it will be going into my very next strolling performance in two weeks. It is easy to do and has real impact. I buy a lot of magic and most does not get used. This will get used for sure

I was waiting for anything negative. Anything at all. All I've read is top notch reviews. Order placed as of 10 seconds ago. Please don't let the handling be persnikity like the effect "Insane" (Andy Nyman).

You've spent money wisely (and we've all wasted hundreds on stuff in the 'unused' drawer). Personally, I'm going with the Mastriani (sp?) handling - slighly more involved but the payoff is worth it. |

Another one for high praise on ACE. I received this last week, and have performed it all weekend and the last couple days to friends and family as I didn't have any gigs over the weekend. I don't normally do any gaffed card magic, but this I am definitely going to buy a load of replacement sets as I can see me using this a lot!! Whether this was on supercards or not as something else, the DVD that goes into all the handling tips and psychology of it all warrants the price on this. When I saw the DVD was an hour long I thought a lot of it would be a waste and just filler, but there is more work on the tips and psychology than the routines themselves, and it is this that makes the routine as amazing as it is.

I have a few clients who ask specifically for card routines. I have a Batman theme in the few effects prior so I enter the subsequent routine talking about my love for the Joker, ever since Jack Nicholson played him and especially the late Heath Ledger's legendary performance. I go on about how they're the most neglected cards in the deck. Nobody really uses them for games. What people don't know is that this provides ample time for the Jokers to practice their magic. Long story short, I start off with the visually captivating packet trick "Jesters" (Aldo Colombini), where each of the 4 jokers go through a series of color changes. I then have some nice patter and presentation of "Prior Commitment" (the jokers still remaining the theme). I move in to "Full Lotus" (off of "Front Row Sankey"), which is basically a new and improved "Paperclipped" that absolutely rocks (involves a joker who's in to Yoga). I also have some great presentation ideas for Sankey's "About Face" effect and ALdo COlombini's |Jokers Dilemma) but these have yet to make the cut. ACE will play great in this set for sure.

Batman rocks. I was doing an adults b-day the other day and was in the midst of my Batman-themed routine. I asked the women which one of the superheros were their favorite (hoping they'd say Catwoman). I knew these people had a cat and was prepared. I asked for the family cat to be brought to me, explaining that I could magically transfer super human abilities (like catwoman) to their cat. I had them select a card, lost it in the deck, threw the deck on the ground, cards going everywhere and placed there cat on the ground amongst them. I ordered their cat, with its new super senses, to find their signed card and she did!
If they only knew I'd drenched the force card in the juices of luxury wet cat food just prior. Sorry. Not really "ACES" related but a fun story nonetheless. |

I finally got around to watching and playing with Ace. This is great! I think we all know what we are getting into when we get this, but I have to say that I was VERY pleased with Ace. Well worth the $20.
I did have a question though - does anybody know where to get Jokers in that old black and white style without the guarantee? I've not seen them in awhile.... |

A few have mentioned the similarity to "NFW" where four jokers turn over one by one and then instantly all four jokers become four aces, does anyone have both effects and if so how similar are the methods?
