Because we are sliding the magnets, and not pulling them apart perpendicularly, it might not be as hard as one would expect. This is just a guess; one would need to have the magnets in hand to be sure.
Quote:
Pull Force - The force required to pull a magnet free from a flat steel plate using force perpendicular to the surface. Maybe instead of using all disc magnets, it's a combination of the disc magnets and 1.5" washers that are attracted to a magnet (ferromagnetic). Or, we use standard washers, and put a small, thin magnet (with less pull force) in the hole of the washer. The sticker than seals magnet and washer together. |

Good ideas jprace. The best way to find what will work in the real world IMO is by the old trial and error method...

I just bought a sample pack of poker chips here for $1.53
http://www.pokerchipman.com/poker-chip-s......10-chips They exactly match these poker chip stickers that I have also bought and are on the way to me now. http://www.zazzle.com/pokerchip_sticker_......66793163 http://www.zazzle.com/pokerchip_sticker_......27801471 http://www.zazzle.com/pokerchip_sticker_......17593785 Imagine telling a stoy about how you show up to a casino with cash money in coin form IE your fully opened STC Eisenhower or Morgan side out. The manager of the casino says you cannot gamble with cash. So you slowly and visually change your silver dollars into poker chips one at a time. Then maybe for a climax you get a bunch of poker chips to dump out of you sleeves or steal a bunch of chips from a coin clip. Whatever method you want. It's a neat routine I came up with of the top of my head. If you can routine it properly and polish it it would be killer. Plus the poker chips could be a segway into your card magic. Taking you from one genre of magic to another. What a great way to transition from coins to cards rather than just saying.....You wanna see a card trick now?

I have used them and I think the stickers are pretty cool. However, if you keep nest the split coins together for some time, they will be difficult to seperate. When not in use for a period of time, its best to put a divider between them.
If you are interested in my take, you can get them here. http://www.zazzle.com/casino_chip_for_sp......95540301 http://www.zazzle.com/casino_chip_for_sp......92484220 http://www.zazzle.com/sticker_for_your_s......36916067 http://www.zazzle.com/sticker_for_your_s......56270297 The poker chips are made from the chips that I have and the coins are made from Chinese Shell set that I'm sure many of you already have. One of the Chinese coin sticker is made from Ton Onosaka's Chinese shell set, so the sticker side will match the coin. The other one is made from Jieli's Chinese coin shell set. BTW, if you put 2 different stickers on a Split Coin, you can do a Triple Spellbound like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAtCwYQsnr0 Regards

If anyone is looking to go elswhere for their STC gaff, you can buy 2 Lassen Eisenhower split coins. Which gives you the option of having your STC in HEAD HEAD TAILS format, or TAILS TAILS HEADS FORMAT. The stickers fit perfectly on these just like the wong STC. The magnetic pull on Lassen's gaff is a bit stronger but in a good way. The coins snap back into position and line up really well. Sometimes with the wong set up the Double Face portion peaks out from behind the Eisenhower dollar and you get a little flash of the gold from the Chinese side of the gaff. This is not so with the lassen set. Yes the full set is a little bit chunkier when fully assembled with all three coins but for how long do you actually show the whole set with it completely assembled anyway?
Here is the link to his split coin. http://toddlassen.com/commercial/?page_id=417

From those that have tried the various stickers, I'm curious how the stickers of coins such as the English penny look?
Specifically, I wonder if they look too flat or 2 dimensional? Real coins are 3 dimensional and have some relief to them. I suppose if you were to just flash it just showing the opposite side for a moment it would be fine, but usually you are holding it out for a short time if you're ostensibly displaying an entirely different coin. Just wondrin'. I actually kind of like the Chinese coin sticker because that is just a "made-up" coin anyway, and no one really knows what it should look like. Same with not having an actual hole in it. If you're not using any coins that do have holes in the same routine, then nobody but magicians notice the lack of a hole. I also like the Chinese stickers because of the way they pop when you first see them, the contrast is great in any type of lighting. But having said that, it is always fun to play around with new stuff and experiment. I know the stickers are cheap and I will probably get some, but just wondering how others have liked them. By the way, that optically clear teflon tape is fantastic. I have been using it for many things. It's great for adding slippery-ness and cutting down noise. I even use it on ungimmicked coins such as 3 Fly because it makes them absolutely silent and so smooth. You no longer have to use soft coins to avoid having them talk. And you totally can't see it, completely invisible. Plus, works a treat inside of shells and so forth, it is extremely thin yet very durable. I really can't see which coin I applied it to on my DFSTC. Thanks, Bill |

Great collaboration from others on this very interesting thread.
I am waiting on stickers. Went to Home Depot...1 1/2 inch fender washers @ 25cents each. They have a 3/8ths inch hole in the center (smallest they had). Just thinking, this actually has some interesting potential when applying chinese coin stickers with simulated hole in the center. So hole punch the sticker and apply it to the fender washer and it goes right thru like an actual chinese coin with a hole in the middle. So when used with the STC you have a chinese coin that sticks to STC.....have to mess with this combination when stickers arrive.....just sayen that blanks are a great find but don't ignore the center hole in the fender washers for different combinations and magical effects....looking forward to messing with this when materials are at hand. As for the two dimensional effect of some of the stickers...there are several stickers of copper coins to choose from with a clearer and higher "relief" than the English half penny...look carefully at them before choosing. chuck

Don't forget guys laymen are looking at these for maybe a few secs per coin. They are not being handed out for examination. The coins are appearing vanishing color changing jumping from hand to hand. So much to keep track of for a spectator. They are not going to notice anything. Magicians on the other hand will know right away that your not using a real coin. But we are not performing for magicians. Maybe some of you are thinking :really stickers instead of coins how cheap!: but you know what if it works it works. Don't knock it till you try it. I've been frying people with this custom set and making a couple more. DFSTC was a great spring board to get this started but this is just insane.

Yup, I agree. I isn't about the objects per se. I could be walnuts or candy pieces or any small object at all as far as the spec is concerned. Its about the quick vanish, or production or color change that grabs the spec.
Much of the fun here is in the experimentation with a lot of different set ups for all kinds of interesting possibilities and eye candy. After they have their materials, I hope those interested in this thread share some of the results of their experimentation as jconstantino has done.

In theory you could use the "create your own sticker option here...........
http://www.zazzle.com/design_your_own_st......39857343 and just shrink the image down. Now I don't know how small you would have to shrink it to get it right. Too small or too large and your screwed. I found this site after days of searching (not kidding is was days) so someone could find another sticker site that will do custome sized as well. This obviously isn't the only site on the internet. Let us all know if anybody figures it out. I'm mostly a dollar size fella myself. But I do own a half dollar STC I'd like to customize. BTW my poker chip stickers came in and they look sooooooooooooooooo real it's ridiculous. I'll post another youtube video eventually showing that set and another set I made.

Ok guys another video. This one is performance only. http://youtu.be/LZ9Y6hlV2V4
This is just a tiny not of what you can do with a custom DFSTC set. I have another set like this one but the three indifferent coins are actually a red blue and black poker chip. Same routine though.
