I have a new DVD coming out in the near future. Here is a description of the effect!
The performer takes out 6 different colored shoelaces, all held together, side-by-side, in one closed fist They're all identical in length. The performer explains the premise; a "Russian Roulette" type effect... 5 of the 6 shoestrings will be grabbed - and PULLED - from the performer's hand, one at a time, until only one string remains in the hand. The performer says he is "pretty sure" he knows which string will be left behind, and so has made a prediction... He has tied ONE ITEM to ONE of the strings... This ONE ITEM tied to ONE OF THE STRINGS is hidden in his closed fist (which holds all of the strings)... After a couple (freely selected) shoelaces have been stripped from the performer's hand, the performer tells the audience exactly WHAT is tied to one of the strings... A RAZOR BLADE... "So you understand," explains the performer, "That all of these strings will slide freely from my tightly closed fist... except for one." Tension builds as, one by one, strings are grabbed randomly by different spectators and torn from the performer's closed fist... Two remain... Spectator grabs one. (This is a great place for by-play about the spectator changing their mind)... Performer wildly pulls his fist back, freeing the empty string. One string remains in his hand. With no funny moves, he opens his fist, revealing - YES - the one remaining string has - tied onto it - a very real razor blade. *No stooges *No forcing *FREE selections of the strings *No difficult sleights *Safe, but looks incredibly risky *Can be easily & quickly & inexpensively assembled with a quick trip to Walmart *set everything up at home - no "backstage" set up required at all - just remove your stuff from your case and perform *Nothing to hide or palm away. End clean. *Plays on stage or close-up, and can be completely surrounded *Audience tested Morgan Strebler

Sounds very "up my street"
A dangerous version of something from the Safwan Papers if my memory is correct. Love the premise. Love the visual aspect. When can I get one? Pretty please. Steve |

Oh wow, this sounds really good.
If the description and everything else is accurate and truthful, this sounds awesome. Can't wait to hear more (perhaps even see a demo?).

The set up is super quick! You can even cut though paper or something at the end to show that the blade is super sharp. (If you wanted) That is unless of course you want to dull the blade. If you handle it like instructed your hand is SAFE using a sharp blade!

It sounds like a spectacular effect! But I'm not convinced there is a way to hold a sharp razor blade in my closed fist without being cut.
I'm certainly not asking you to tell the secret, but how is it possible to hold a sharpened blade in my fist SAFELY? The mental image of a bleeding, painful cut in my hand is a deterrent from me wanting to purchase this.
The difficult must become easy, the easy beautiful and the beautiful magical.

Yes there is surprisingly a safe way to hold it, but you could always dull the blade if you wanted to.

I really like Nathan Allen's performing style!
Currently Morgan Strebler has a gofundme on this so go check it out and let's get the thing funded. I can see this leading in well with Wayne Houchin's "A single needle". |

I think this would play more dramatically if the strings were in the
mouth of the performer; for you could release some tension in the hand, thus allowing for ease of said movement, as the string is being pulled. Just my opinion though folks! I'm going to go shave now! |
