How did you do with the parent magazine? I was in it for lil bit but did not like the leads I was getting frfom it.
Thanks |

Having been in the advertising & marketing business for many years, as well as a former publisher & editor of a publication, I have found that the readership of free publications such as parenting magazines is never quite the demographics you would think it should be as compared to publications that people have to pay for. So you may have a lot of the copies being picked up by lower income, kids, grandparents, non-parents, etc. On the positive side, they should be charging less for their advertising because of this.

I paid about $150 a month to advertise with a small block ad. I got maybe 5 inquiries a month from it. It was ok, and certainly paid for itself, but I am blessed at the moment to have enough work without needing that. If that situation changes, I may re-consider. People like Al Angello tell me that Facebook is a great marketing tool, but I am skeptical!

Do you do some email marketing, as well as Google ad words (ex. contacting new leads, keeping in touch with past customers, etc.)? Or phone calls to keep in touch with past customers?
Or do you only chat with past customers when they call you, or when you see them in person? - Donald

I am not terribly clever at that sort of thing, and quite honestly I have all the work I need!!! Am I right that I will see you at Kidabra in August? |

Yes, I'm planning to be at KIDabra this year. I look forward to meeting you in person (even if I can't have a ride in your lamborgini.)

Roger is heavily involved in facebook advertising, and he is out there beating the bushes looking for work every day. Don't let his cool exterior fool you he is a humble marketing giant.
