I was having the problem with the app 'not finding songs'. I'm not sure what of the following helped, but now the app is working great!
I was using SyncR to sync my itunes playlists (which also had my showmusic) onto my Motorola Razr HD I deleted all music from the device I uninstalled and reinstalled both SyncR and BestBoy I used Windows file manager to move my show music to a file onto the internal storage device. Once I did that the music is found and playing in BestBoy and my other music is playing is the normal device music player(s) I'll add a request (as someone did above) to have an individual track option to play the next track. The one big track option would work, but I use the same songs in many playlists, so I would have to be editing all the time. Also...do the USB remotes connect all need a 'dongle' via the USB port on the phone? which of the tested deviced have the smallest attachment? |

Has anyone got the USB Ijet working on the Droid Razr Maxx? Do you just plug it into the USB OTG cable and it works, or does it require some type of set-up?

Had anyone tried connecting a smart watch as a remote via bluetooth? Control your music from your watch?

I didn't tried to connect a smart watch. But as long the smartwatch will send keycodes to the phone it should work.

Is there an rf usb 6 button remote control available? I'm not finding one yet, and I want the same functionality that I have on my Keith Rubow remote (start, stop, volume up, volume down, cue forward one song, cue backward one song)
Jimmy Posted: Nov 27, 2013 12:19 pm Never mind, found the Ijet usb... Seems that the only place to buy it is direct from IJet. I'm also getting the dock for the phone so that it charges as it waits. Cool, thanks everyone, especially Gothike over the years!!!! JF |

Can someone please try this and see if it works with best boy https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai......te&hl=en I have it installed on my phone and tablet so I can control my tablet with my phone and it works to control everything except best boy. I want to know if it's just my set up or its the same for other people.
Thanks, Liam |

Hi, here are my own discoveries with the iJet...
The OTG Samsung Dock/Charger/USB port unit from Amazon simply was not recognized by the Samsung Galaxy S3, so I'll try another OTG cable tomorrow when I get to Vegas and a Fry's Electronics. Radio Shack did not have an OTG cable. Bummer, I've got a show in Vegas Wednesday and wanted to try it out. Hopefully Fry's has it |

@Liam:
I tested the tabletremote and it works fine with Best Boy. I connected my phone with my tablet. You can't use a long press and somehow the enter key doesn't work. The rest worked great. Did you programm/learned the keys in Best Boy? |

I also grabbed a cheap 7" tablet from Walmart which IS compatible with usb-otg. I had to do that bc I didn't want my lifeline (phone) tethered to the sound system all night (I usually set up in the afternoon before gigs before heading to the hotel to change etc.) I don't remember which version of Android it is (one of the more recent), Jellybean???? - but whichever it is, if you find a device that is new enough and is running Android x? you'll be good as usb-otg is supported. But it's not just the software, as I tried flashing a new operating system onto an older device and it didn't work. If you're not morally opposed to walmart, go grab that tablet. It's Hisense brand, and was only like $100 or so. Quote:

Say, for example, you have your phone in your pocket, and before the show, step just out of range of your receiving device (connected to the sound system), you'll have to re-connect the bluetooth when you get back in the area. I played with that app for awhile myself, as I like to be redundant with equipment at gigs, and wanted a backup in case the iJet didn't work for one reason or another... It might be okay for some people, but not for me... I like to hit my walkon music from the back of the room as they're introducing me, and having to have the phone's remote app open while carrying a prop bag, and also hitting the remote for my spotlight and dealing with everything else would be kind of clunky. In addition to the range, you have to deal with the sensitive nature of phone screens... whereas you might be able to keep a hard remote with buttons in your pocket... we've all probably "butt dialed" our phones... with the app remote, you run the very real risk of accidentally skipping/pausing/whatevering if you're not careful. There are a couple more reasons, but I'm already rambling and haven't had enough coffee yet today, so I'll just leave it at that. In a pinch, as an emergency backup, TabletRemote might be okay (if you keep your remote/phone in range of the sound system at all times - i.e. don't have it in your pocket and walk into the audience too far for any reason - and if your show's logistics allow you to have a space on your table to keep the app open and running)... but I definitely wouldn't recommend using it as your main method of music control. |

The S3 doesn't give the remote receiver of the iJet enough juice to run it without an extra power input to the OTG cable.

Even with the extra power plug integrated with the OTG cable, the Galaxy S3 still doesn't power the usb sufficiently to work consistently. It may work a few times, but it won't work consistently, at least in my experience.
However, my cheesy Ainol Burning Novo 7" tablet works it perfectly, so now I have an actual use for my import tablet that doesn't seem to do really well at anything else, LOL! Jimmy |

An alternative to the iJet... http://www.impulsecontroller.com totally Bluetooth, no other cords needed.
Just understand that it doesn't work (with best boy) in the controller's default media mode. Set it in Android mode and map the key presses. Simply beautiful. Also, Florian is working on the playing from SD card issue with the RAZR devices (it affects the MAXX as well, BTW). In the meantime, as posted earlier you can copy the music to the internal memory of the phone and it will work perfect. Can't have as much music... But it's an option until he gets it fixed. Thank you Florian! Posted: Dec 18, 2013 04:26 pm For the key programming... 1. Connect your Bluetooth controller to the phone or tablet 2. Open the Best Boy Setup, open Program Keys (at the bottom) 3. Choose a function (i.e. Play/Stop) 4. On your Bluetooth remote, press and release the key you want (in our example to control Play/Stop) and the Best Boy app will map to that keypress. 5. Repeat for the other functions you want to use. Hope this helps!

I gotta say - we have played around with this app - ordered one remote - that didn't work - came back here to find the right one and it should be here in 2 days. This App will work fine for most acts. And you can't beat the price.
Here's to a forum topic dedicated to Android Users! Yes - that's right the universe doesn't revolve around any apple. |

I need help. I purchased the I jet remote that is recommended in this thread. I am trying to use it with a Toshiba thrive. When we push t h en buttons on the remote it plays the tracks on the sound boy app and the built in media player app at the same time. Two songs playing At the same time. This doesn't work for us. Any ideas?

Sean-Paul, If it's like the app I use on my iPod Touch, you have to go into the app and manually play a track from within the app (i.e. not using the remote.) With the iPod Touch/iPad/iPhone, this tells the device that the app is playing music and not the built-in music player. Then, I can use the remote with it. As I haven't used the Android app, I don't know that it's the same but it's worth a try.

Okay - guys SUPER FRUSTRATED with the Best Boy - because there are big time issues with the Android Music Player.
For the Record we are using a Toshiba Thrive Tablet which works great in all other regards. When using the Best boy app with the Ijet remote - it starts the music file fine BUT IT ALSO starts a random music file else where on the tablet. We have tried to do allot of research here and see what the issue is - come to find out that this little Android Music App is causing problem to other android users who are not doing anything with the Best Boy Sound Control app. Does anyone have any ideas? Mac users - I really don't want to hear it. |
